I present to you EPISODE NINE of our series, titled Who The $@%# Are These Guys?

STARNEWS23 is a mock-news machinima based in the Guild Wars universe. Imagine if the game had a 10 o'clock news broadcast covering the weekend events, except the team were all a variety of impatient, mean people, including a noob who can't read, a woman who's mean to everybody, and all kinds of other character-driven stereotypes.

We started this series in 2006 during weekend events and launched a "season" of eight episodes in 2007. Then, I ended up transferring to a state university and pretty much lost all free time to work on the series. My girlfriend at the time, who worked with me on this project, graduated with me in 2010, and we now have jobs, are getting married (no, really) and have been watching Guild Wars II grow with the goal of starting the series back up when beta news started to hit.

Now that this has happened, we are making our official return. We hope you like the episode - our first one since August of 2007. We're officially back, we have more people now, and we intend on being a regular facet of the Guild Wars community, as we were back in 2007 when we were at our prime. On that note, if you like this video, please spread it everywhere you think Guild Wars fans might watch it.

Err first one since 2007 ? starnews23 episode 3 uploaded in 2011 and thats a link from the youtube page.
Being english it shows me why i never liked usa sports coverage - reporters like that dont exist in uk ( thank god lol ).

The date says uploaded in 2011 because that's when their Youtube channel was started. If you look all the other episodes are on the same date.

Bad link? Looks like a mod fixed it, but damn, I could have avoided that.

Also, I recently uploaded some of the episodes that we couldn't put on YouTube back in 2007 due to the lengths (back then, I was limited to ten minutes per video, so only three or four of the videos ever got on YouTube). In May of this year, in response to my 2 million hit video, I got approved for unlimited upload sizes, so I've been slowly getting the old episodes in excess of 10 minutes up there.

Check my post history to confirm - particularly threads that I created. You'll see the threads for the episodes all go back to 2007, and that this is my second created thread since 2007 (the other one I created was in 2011, looking for a guild).

Thanks for all the awesome feedback. I was talking to "Melody" on the way home and she was reading some of the comments. The fact that not only here, but also on GWOnline, so many people recognized us was really heartwarming.

Our current plans are for more episodes to come out as events give us stuff to work with, but as soon as we get into the beta (probably when you get in via preorder) we'll be bringing the cast over to GW2 in - almost - its entirety. Betsy Crapshot stays in GW1. The rest move forward.

Anything you guys didn't like? That way we can tailor these things to what you want.

You'll get more! We're not sure what the next few episodes will hold, namely because I think what we do depends on 1) if we get into the GW2 beta and 2) if releasing video will be possible at the end of the event, like it was with the recent beta weekend for the press.

We're definitely planning on being around for the birthday weekend (when the seventh year presents hit), and we might be around for the St. Patrick's Day/Easter weekends if something is going on.
