Talking The Signet Warrior

One day I got so crazy about signets I decided to literally create a Signet warrior. Funny thing is It does exceptionally well PvE. Dealing a respectable payload for those warriors who are just plum crazy. I feel like these warriors are like..kewl. But so low budget. XD

(Full Sentinal Runes Required to leave warrior in the middle of a crowd and leave computer to get a doughnut.)

Signet of Strength
Signet of stamina
Healing Signet
Dolyak Signet
Signet of Weariness
Symbolic Strike
[Echo]
Signet of Distraction

Anyone Got any other signet builds? Im curious. to see how far we can take this.

Symbolic Strike is reallly fun...

My super awesome AI-friendly Hero Symbolic Striker Build:

Symbolic Strike
Battle Rage (Elite) if Warrior/Onslaught (Elite) if Dervish
Resurrection Signet
Signet of Strength
-filler signet- (disable/micro)
-filler signet- (disable/micro)
-filler signet- (disable/micro)
-filler signet- (disable/micro)

Attributes:
12+ Str
12++(+) Martial Weapon excluding Spear (preferably Scythe)

Complain all you want about a lack of utility- melee was never built to be the Condition Spammer or Interrupt'er. This abuses melee AI to the fullest and allows for epic laziness w/ big numbers.

These actually look pretty fun. Only thing I would say is add an IAS somehow.

I have been using signets on melee heroes since I started playing in "07
now the years have move along signets have become more powerful

Here's what my hero warriors run: http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/6097/symbolwars.jpg

I'm working on warrior mesmer signet build but Goran wont leave his hammer alone

BTW I did not rip these off of gwpvx wiki I was one of the founding helpers to create these builds which now I think there in the archives

I played around with it last night and it is really really constricting having that many signets loading your bar at the expense of other skills. Now the Battle Rage elite makes sense because you are able to compress basically 3 skills into one (Enraging Charge, Flail, and For Great Justice) but otherwise you are of course losing your ability to fill out a bar with skills like Asuran Scan, Save Yourselves!, or Whirlwind Attack (if you do, it's at the expense of less signets).

A Symbolic build would probably be best off going D/W and taking advantage of the Scythe's inherent multi hit capability and high base damage. It could end up fairly nice combined with a VoS/Sand Shards type build that relies on VoS/SS for the mobs and Symbolic for individual foes.

Battle Rage does not give IAS, so it does not compress flail. If you're going to run symbolic strikers, I'd suggest Dark Fury/Mark of Fury Orders and/or an Infuriating Heat ranger. That way you can run Symbolic Strike, 4-6 signets, and an IAS (plus a utility or two if you want).

Duh, I didn't read wiki very carefully. My bad. All the more reason that this build is going to really make you sacrifice a lot of the basic components of a typical warrior bar.

i went W/R, symbolic strike, antidote signet, doliyak signet, rez signet, signet of strength, healing signet, flail, charging strike [E]

not bad, but also not quite ideal. could use better personal adrenaline gain. i thought about going enraging charge and soldier's stance [E] with a paragon on the team to help out as well.

Played around a bit. Optimal setups I can find are:

D/W

Symbolic Strike/VoS/Heart of Fury/Any 5 signets

or

Symbolic Strike/Sand Shards/Onslaught/Any 5 signets

or

Symbolic Strike/Onslaught/SY/Any 5 signets

or

Symbolic Strike/Onslaught/FGJ/Any 5 signets

Run with an Orders hero using Dark Fury, go to town.

VoS build lets you spam Symbolic for +90ish damage per hit if you can hit 2 enemies, while 3 enemies gives +105ish damage per hit to each of them. Probably best general use build.

Onslaught build #1 gives you IMS and Sand Shards which is almost as good (and if you are running SS + SW then you have so much already that VoS is redundant).

Onslaught build #2 takes advantage of the fact that Onslaught +adren stacks with Dark Fury +adren which both work off of Scythe's multi hit to spam SY very well.

Onslaught build #3 is your pure single target damage. Worse than other builds in 2+ enemy situations, but can spam Symbolic every strike if used with Dark Fury. A bit too niche IMO but might have its place in some areas.

Sadly almost every signet you can take is just worthless fluff sitting there to satisfy Symbolic Strike. The only remotely useful one is Tryptophan Signet.

W/Ds can run the builds very nearly as well. VoS needs to change over to Frenzy, which probably does slightly more DPS over time thanks to 33% vs 25% IAS and strength bonus, with the obvious caveat being that you are running frenzy.

Here's the thing with symbolic strike, do the math, +12 for each signet at 4a, so, basically with 3 signets you have a 4a executors chop, galrath slash or mighty blow. You don't really need to fill the bar with signets, any more then 3 would take away to much useful stuff. Figure the Res Sig, and maybe Heal Sig(or sig of strength), that leaves you with 1 extra "signet" slot.

for heroes I've found it's easiest to do on W/R, W/P, and W/Me though there are a few novel W/A, W/Mo and W/D things you can do. Sig of Judgement can be interesting on a warrior, I used to use a "your all alone" bar with sig of malice and sadist or deadly coruption sig.

The thing is, you could do just as well spamming power attack at that point, and it wouldn't waste several skills slots to do it. Or take one of the skills you listed + FGJ to make your entire bar charge twice as fast.

IMO, only way to effectively use Symbolic is to go 100% full bore on abusing the skill. Otherwise a conventional build can offer the same damage with a ton more flexibility and utility.
