[Resolved] Problem on guru?
Was browsing the forum and my Nod32 pop up with this: (Dont click any links!)
I terminated as soon as it was detected, this is worrying as I visit the site regularly. Might be nothing, but its better to be safe and sure. Please check it out.

Loki, I'm guessing your Nod32 is just detecting this ad as adware. It doesn't like it. I can't find any information on any virus that your anti-virus alerted nor can I pull it up. There have also been no other reports so this is most likely just your spyware/adware kicking in since Intellitxt is one of our ad companies we use.

I very much doubt this is true, I visit these forums everyday and never had a virus or any computer problems and I dont even use a anti-virus/firewall (yeah I know its dumb not to use but kinda lags my computer so I just prefeur to be careful and dont go in dodgy sites.

I strongly encourage you to use at least some form of protection for your computer. There are numerous free options that you can download and use immediately; I'd personally recommend AdAware or Spybot S&D for spyware, and AntiVir for virus protection. They shouldn't have a noticeable effect on your computer's performance unless you're running a truly archaeic system, and there are plenty of reasons to have them:
- Many sites that you might not consider dodgy can contain malware of all sorts. You'd be surprised where people have been hit with spyware and vira, not just porn sites and file-sharing tools. You can also get it from e-mails, bootleg discs and other things unrelated to websites.
- Your system can get infected very easily, and it spreads. Do you want to be responsible for sharing a worm with your entire mail list, just because you couldn't bother keeping your computer clean?
- Almost all forms of malicious software can be purged by formatting your system, but there have been cases of vira messing up the power distribution and frying hardware such as video cards.
Sorry for being off-topic.

It takes the average computer with no firewall or AV 40 minutes to get infected.
You can't possibly say your computer is completely clean...
