preemptive closure/deletions
So far it seems that there are only 2 responses that GWguru offers, no it has been done before/already discussed/can't be done , and thread closure or deletion.
It behooves me greatly that diversity is not embraced here despite the pretense and there are no avenues for remedy.
Most responses are given air time and then preclude a reasonable discussion when no flaming or off topic posting is done in response.

I find locking threads just ever so slightly erotic.
[Edit on request: Don't post stupid ideas, and they wont be locked or trashed.]

dragondevil, you've really lost me on this one. Are you complaining that the community is not diverse? That there's not enough new topics and unique conversations being posted?

Unless the subject posted interessts the mods, the new threads are closed to fast on this forum now day's. I spend less and less time here, I don't like the "Big Brother" attitude that have developed here lately.

While I like the vagueness and accusations that comes with claims as "we only have 2 responses" and "unless the subject posted interests the mods" if you see this as a problem then please report it to me with specific examples, threads, trends or whatever you see as a concern in PM. I am happy to and regularly work with forum user's daily on their concerns and trying to see that we can meet a middle ground whether that be changing some of our policies or explaining to a user why we need a particular policy.

what makes me laugh is mods close a thread saying, its been discussed, search.
then when someone replies to a thread they searched out. they complain about rezzing dead threads and close it or delete the posts you made in it.
that makes alot of sense

dragondevil:
As time goes on, diversity of topical conversation decreses, given an unchanging atmosphere. New and original ideas and discussions are welcome, but more often than not what we tend to see coming up again and again are complaints about the same thing.
Your choice of wording confuses me. How does a lack of flaming or off topic posts preclude anything? Normally they are direct causes of derailing and thread closure.
I don't understand the nature of your post. It seems contradictory to itself and the way the board works.
Stockholm:
There's no arbitrary decision based on the subjective content of posts by mods, only decisions based on the quality of those posts. You are welcome to offer suggestions to improve this (although you seem reluctant to do that).
Chop:
Find me some contemporary threads that do that and I'll give it a second thought. Right now, though, you're just talking out your rear.
A lot like other people do these days, apparently.

Have to agree with the Mod's/Amins here. I have been an active poster for over a year now and 90% of the threads in Riverside and Suggestion forums have been bough up many times. The only threads that are relatively new are one's concerning Nightfall and half of these have been bought up at least once (Sunspear points/Hero AI etc).
They Mod's are extremely patient regarding some of the crap posted here these days.
