Default Missing PC gurus

Probably due to holiday vacations etc, the PC forum now has pages of unanswered requests. Do you have an approximate date for the PC gurus reappearance? And will someone be going through the backlog?

I think you would be seeing a lot of threads like this, if members knew where to post such questions.

PC forum is pretty much neglected. Most of the PC moderators have never done as much as close a thread there.

As for the PC gurus..

Mr DJ - Quit PCing (should be removed and replaced by OMG Pizowned)
Herbalizer - Plays WoW now though he does visit occasionally.
Wilderness - Still semi active
Jackie - Still active
Stuey - Still active
Big Papi - Plays WoW now
Peachie - Semi active
King Abadon - Busy with school
Marcus - Doesn't bother anymore

Mods..

Racthoh - Never done any moderating there
Stalker Haras - As above
Unienaule - As above
Arya - Active
The Dirrtiest - Quit playing as far as I know
Two April Mornings - Never done any moderating
Billiard - As above
Savio - As above
Milias - Active

This isn't a "dig" as such but one of the most active areas of the forum is pretty much ignored these days.

It's very hard to find good people to manage all this Admin's Bane. I try to keep up but there are many areas that need attention and we have been reviewing and trying to remedy this. You'll see changes soon.

The PC gurus are not obligated to respond to every thread in the Price Check section, afterall it is a volunteer position. The Ventari's Sell receives a lot of traffic, and it would be unfair to those who are donating their time to offer this service to guru to expect them to hit every thread. I would imagine that is why past guru PCers have stepped down because they tried to do just that; give everyone a spot on estimate of their item.

Let us also not forget that you can also take the word of non-PC gurus. There are several members of the community who do share their opinions on the values of items that do not wear the PC badge. Gurus were selected for their ability to give a more accurate pricing on a more frequent basis. Afterall, everyone makes mistakes.

Believe me, you could spend several hours a day checking each thread for new posts and by the end of it you know you'll be doing the exact same thing the next day. You can imagine how quickly you'd experience burn out.

I stick my head in sometimes

I don't play much anymore between college and WoW so I really have no clue on NF weapon pricing. If stu or Jackie doesnt pc something, chances are its not going to get done by another guru.

Since The Dirrtiest left the PC section has been pretty dead. I think putting a mod in charge of PC could help if he/she played an active role. Some new pc'ers would be nice to but theres really not many out there that price check on a daily basis and know where there talking about.

Rac has done some moderating in PC....he scolded me via pm many months ago

I do realize the volume of PC requests involved, and members are used to having to bump threads, but if no one is going to provide the service then the forum should be closed to new requests. Guru is offering a service and then not providing it. Limit it to the stickied lists if necessary. Players in-game are complaining about the lack of response - I heard comments in droks and kc last night.

That isn't a fair comment. Everyone could PC their own items if thy took the time and bothered to look beyond page 1 in the forum.

A few tips for self PCing

Search! Search the PC forum, serach the Sell/High End forums for similair items then base thew PC on that. Browse through the auctions and look at current selling prices and prices that item has sold for.

PCing isn't some lost art which only a select few can do...anyone can do it.
