Guru runs super slow After u Log In??? - Guild Wars Forums

umm i have this wierd problem with guru website..
i have reasonably fast internet. so i dont get any lags when i play gw and i dont have problem browsing on the net, etc

i don't have auto log in enabled in guru website for security reasons. and this is the weird part. all the thread opens up quickly when i browse at guru.. well most of the time. but Soon as i log in it starts to run super slow.. and only After i log in.. and it'll go back to normal if i close the internet explorer and reopen the guru website.

(usually i browse around and i'll only log in if i have to post something etc)

anyone else get this problem?

Guru generally runs slowly for me. I'm always logged in and I can't bother logging out to see if there's a difference, but most php-boards (the kind of forum that guru and many others use) run slowly with frequent "crashes" and very long load times. Sometimes it'll be smooth and fine, but often loading a thread takes up to a minute or more, or simply gives me a "page not found".

So it's probably not guru's fault, but the type of board that it's hosted on.

@Xunlai Master - I had the same problem as you when I tried to login and navigate the forum,this morning, but not now .....Now all seems normal no lag at all.

i think it's where the server for this site is located, the farther away the slower you'll get the information because the longer it takes your isp to route to the server, also my guess would it'd also depend on the amount of people on at once, the more the slower. Usually people are on the most in the morning and mid afternoon for me so i try to stay away at those times.

Xunlai, interesting post. I just tried it myself though and the slowness was the same. Not all that encouraging I understand, but it's intermittent meaning it's coming and going. We thought it was locked sql queries but that doesn't appear to be it. So we are still looking into it.

Well I seem to get this problem everytime i log in.. at least for past couple of weeks.

However the problem i had in past was much worse(i also posted at guru while back)
After i logged into guru even my GW would run super slow. I had to restart the pc to get things back to normal speed. At least I don't get that problem anymore.

its actually supposed to load faster if you're logged in since no intellitxt ads load or rectangle ads

I just tried what the OP said: logging out and surfing Guru... It's definitely faster.

It's funny to me, but what I've noticed most is that when I log in the first 1 or 2 articles I view seem to load quite fast. However, subsequent article views either load slowly or never load at all (white screen).

Another thing that compounds the problem is that in Firefox I'm prone to tabbed browsing the Guru site. If I try to open more than 1-2 tabs to Guru articles then all the tabs to Guru will take forever (or fail) to load.

Just some data points for you.
