Everything seems to have settled down now. I haven't had any huge issues.

takes about 10 seconds to load any page for me

It seems to work great 99.9% of the time, but very rarely it'll go into this random spurt (random times of the day) and take like 15 seconds to load everything, but then immediately clears up.

15seconds????? thats the NORMAL time for this site to load for me, now I have seen almost NO improvement at all.....today it took me about 10 minutes to load one page (got a few of those white blank pages first).....SLOW is an understatement....I have worked on dial-up in the old days that is faster than I am getting on this site recently.
yes its getting frustrating to say the least (that and the post quick reply that either says you have to wait 30 seconds to post, if you posted a poll you can do so now, or just white screens.....). sigh

I am not having issues anymore either. Before the site would time out every 10-15 minutes. But now I might have a slow down every once in a while but the speed has greatly increased and I'm not having time outs or db errors.

For those having problems, I need your location, browser you are using... and if you are using something other then the default skin. Is it just the forums? Is it the auction? Is it the homepage as well? Is it a certain time of the day? All the time? Any info you can provide will be helpful.

its slow all through the day for me, from like 2pm gmt, upto 3am gmt, anytime i try the site, everything takes 10 seconds to load. dont know about auction as i dont use it

see, i just hit submit reply, it took 38 seconds then i got this error come up and back to the create post screen

same thing again

takes 40 odd seconds to post, says that there was an error, you hit post again which takes another 20 seconds and it double posts it

still using firefox, its a weeeeeeeeeee infinitesimally faster on the default than 2a (grrrrrr no more 2b reallly really hate that junk below the bottom post and the reply box....it has no use and takes up space).....
loggin in takes minutes, reply sometimes works, sometimes get errs, sometimes white screen....loading pages can take anywhere from 15 sec to 10 minutes....makes it very hard to do anything on this site.
it is the ONLY site I have this problem with (I am on other sites at the same time and while this one is 'waiting for guru' I can read the news, google stuff, do just about anything, etc.... except navigate on this site)

I have changed nothing on my computer. (and I get used to having to copy my replies since it has a tendency to forget what I wanted to post...so now I always copy it before I hit reply)

This whole site is always slow for me. That is a bummer because it is the best one out there.

I love the auction, and that is REALLY slow.

Thanks for the great site, hopefully it can speed up somehow.

slower than molasses in december here....makes it almost impossible to post anything when you have to wait minutes to post, get the white page of death a few times and then I just get frustrated and give up.
yes I have cleared my cookies (my computer and I have had some issues and we did a thorough clearing out....no improvement whatsoever.).....I usually get a few pages in before I feel like I am walking through drying cement....then the how long does it take sets in (I was able to make dinner, load the dryer and answer the door all before some pages load....).

Hope things improve soon.

well as being a webdesigner and in to server programing not sure on the bandwidth guru hosts on but this forum get a ton of people on the site at any given time and that will result in slower loading at the times of day guru is really busy... sorry for any typo's im dead tired here everyone have a goodnite

it was unusable at midnight GMT in UK, any searches were hanging and then turning into a white page

same with auction searches

refreshes took about 1-2 minutes to load

now at 2am it seems faster. (10 sec loading times)

as said above, its a great site, with a ton of information, but sometimes its 100% unusable which is a real shame
