I like the update except for the way the AI over-reacts to AOE. Make some sort of delay, or other variable so the AOE casters can still focus on their build of choice. Otherwise, restore it to the former way.
P.S. Thanks Inde for the poll!

Anet needs to get rid of the patch for at least a few weeks to reevaluate the sitution. The idea of what they were doing was decent, but it was implemented terribly. The AI just runs around like a stupid chicken everytime it gets hit. This makes em stupider not smarter.

Thankyou Inde for the chance for us to have a poll. I think this will be good information for ArenaNet.

May i have the cheek to make a suggestion.
People wont really reply to this thread, as theyll mostly want ot moan in the other ones.
Could it be made a temporary sticky so it dosnt get lost, as a poll will "hopefully" show some real data and not a load of moan moan moan.
(runs away)

This is a horrific update & a piss poor attempt at taking down solo monks. When I went down to the UW & watched them continuosly run away from me I just about broke my computer. Then a guildie told me that it had to do with the update. What they did to the AI completely destryoys any & all AoE spells. I'd say I'd go back to using my echo nuker more often, but oh wait, that won't do me a lick of good so long as I keep my usual build of Fire. So, I well soon be stepping away from this game as it has completely destroyed my work over the last 3 months. I'd say I'd go buy City of Heroes, but oh wait, NCSoft deals with that as well. Looks like it's back to Playstation for me, cause I can honestly say I wasted $100 & about 500 hours of play time on a company that continues to aim at the veterans of the game.

Well.. Personally I farm griffins and minotaurs outside of augry alot.
I dont really make too much money too fast, or control the economy in any way. I mainly did it because it was fun.
Now what do i have? i can't get more then 8 monsters to follow me, when i used to enjoy killing 20-30 at once? I realize some people might call this imbalanced, but it relies on exact timing and quick thinking if you dont want to die in one wave of attacks. I found this gameplay very enjoyable, now however i can't kill any monsters enjoyably. I wouldn't mind monsters scattering from AoE spells, but having them only follow you for about 5 seconds is bull... uh... fecal matter.
But... I do actually on second thought love the idea of this for running. I bet i can easily make the droks run now, so i guess that can be my new money source, (but not enetertainment)

And please, PvP-only players stay away from this poll.
This update dont affect your play style at all.
If you don't like PvE, just ignore us.

I hate this. I like to do a quick run with 4 other hench in sorrows or grenth's, but throw that out the window. Cause now it takes close to 5x as long cause i have to be careful to not let hench agrro and when it eventually happens they all run away cause of a stupid firestorm or something from the nuker (Cynn i think). This update is the "solid matter that comes out of the rear of a bull." lol.

It was a good idea, but implemented very poorly. They shouldn't have targeted just AoE. Until Empathy, Backfire and the like are treated in the similar manner as AoEs now, I will continue to be displeased.

Or use it only when their HP is around 25% or less, then the monsters have to find other allies to support them (yes, this tactic does work in WoW annoyingly >_<

Why does ANET still have all of the monsters attack someone carrying a barrel? This update basically eliminates the use of AOE spells, unless you like seeing monsters run around...

Overreaction is kinda bad, but I think it was time that they finally made AI a bit more challenging, and farming harder

As soon as I saw how it worked, I knew most of the players out there would hate it.
**WARNING. ABUSE COMING TO THE AVERAGE PLAYERS SENSE OF SELF-WORTH**
Why? Because most PvE players out there suck at this game. There are a lot of good players, but.... a stunningly large amount of ones that just shouldn't be playing skill-oriented games (Doubt that title for the game? low skill level cap, no godly items, easy-to-acquire elites makes for a VERY skill-based playing field). And this will make it harder on them.
Sure there's problems. But it's a massive improvement. I know that most players out there would rather have the enemy AI just stand there and use soap in the Meteor Showers, and hold umbrella's in the fire storm, but... too bad. Realistically, if little peices of FIRE were falling on your goredenginewhatever head, you'd MOVE. And if any of the people whining about the game ever elevate to PvE, I hope they don't expect monks to stand in their Maelstroms until their life is "at 25% or less" and then move.
And to the farmers out there... I don't think Anet cares about you whining about the griffons and aataxes running away, considering they don't support the idea of farming in the first place. Secondly, since some of us don't listen to them in this regard, it's NOT HARD TO FIND A NEW WAY TO FARM! Smiting is not your only option, and AoE is not the only type of effect that can make you mass amounts of money, fast.
