Neither do I. Also where do your estimates come from?

I don't believe this game has been abandoned. However with a limited amount of warm bodies to go around I would guess they do the best they can.

Respectfully requesting a response would be better.

I don't think these bots exist. I haven't seen any. All the W/N players in rata sum respond to me when I say hello.

ok I will give you the other response from Anet:

we are working on gw2 and have no more resources to put to the game that is currently live....

eg...they aint gonna do anything about it even if you scream and shout until you turn blue.

The estimates are based off the number of copies of one of the most popular botting tools downloaded from a particular botting site.

This is a growing problem that is only going to get worse.

What's the use, I think it's a good idea but a bit too late. Let them prefend botting for GW2, who the hell is botting in a dying game anyway?

Really? look at all the ones (not only W/N but also E/Me) that come into the circle directly in front of the zoning area and then turn immediately around an d go right back outside.. you try and do it.. you can't they are bots msg them see if you can type their name before they go back outside. It is sad it is an exploit that must be addressed if A-net wishes to keep their community happy going into GW2.

^this.

I don't play pvp because the barriers for entry are too ridiculous to regularly get good groups together or to join pugs.
So yeah, enjoy the bots, you deserve them. /notsigned

EDIT:And pve is busted to hell anyway so i don't mind the economy getting flooded with cheap cupcakes.

Since I detest GW PvP I could care less what happens to it.....let it die completely for all I care. As for PvE bots...they don't really affect me. I play GW to run around killing stuff, not to mass farm only to sell in an artificial market. I'd play a stock market game if I thought that was fun. So, since I don't PvP and the ones in PvE don't affect me, I really don't see it as a problem.

For a business, transparency towards it's clients is a virtue. Why Anet/NCSoft doesn't seem to get that is a mystery to me.

The estimate, as Errant said, came from the site where you can download the bots openly. It's likely an underestimated amount, but it's the only figure we have.

Unfortunately, we're beyond the point of "respectfully requesting" anything. Anet hasn't done anything about the JQ bots or bots like the Bergen bot for years, and it's led us here. We're to the point where they need to do something or we'd might as well hand GW over to the bots.

HA is only one part of pvp. The only people I can see not concerned about players abusing the game and making titles worthless are new players.

That's not even counting the absurd number of players who use other botting programs or write their own bots.
Where did you get this number?

Most of the bots you have listed here are PvP bots. I don't see why you would want to fix this; you can use this to your advantage. Bots are not that smart... Interrupt bots can easily be tricked if you cancel your skill before they interrupt you.

This game is no different than real life. It is still subjected to the law of supply and demand. Sooner or later, the price for these cupcakes will fall drastically and the bots will become obsolete.

There is no need to fix any of these bots. Banning players won't help either. Just join the botter and help make this community a better place. If everyone bots, we will all be on even field.

The actual number of unique users is closer to about 1,500, but that doesn't include copies that the downloaders have individually distributed, nor the multiple accounts they're using.

I'm sure there's easily 5,000 accounts, though.
