New Xunlai Tournament House Information
After much analysis and discussion, we’ve decided to permanently retire the Xunlai Tournament House.
Initially, we took down the Xunlai Tournament House due to recurring technical issues that caused incorrect Tournament Point distribution each month. We conducted an exhaustive investigation into the backend code that runs the Xunlai Tournament House to see what we could do to fix these issues. After careful evaluation, we concluded that it wasn’t possible to redeploy the Xunlai Tournament House at the level of quality that our players expect without completely rebuilding it from scratch. To do that, we’d have to take away vital resources from the Guild Wars 2 team. Given the circumstances, we decided it was more important to keep our focus on Guild Wars 2, and permanently retire the Xunlai Tournament House.
This was a tough call for us to make. We’ve greatly appreciated the community’s enthusiastic support for XTH. We know that this decision will disappoint some players, and we apologize for that, but ultimately we believe this was the right decision.

Will players still receive May's reward points? Somewhere along the way it was mentioned they were logged and secure.

Probability theory says 'no'. Reality says 'no'. I guess it's 'no'.
Btw, the decision has probably been made few months ago.

As far as the TRPs go, I think they need to go ahead and distribute them. Back in May, some people got their TRPs and some people didn't. That's just not right.

Well, that's sad. I had a feeling that since it was taking so long to release any information about the XTH that this was going to be the outcome. Add me to the list of players that want to know about May's points. I have a feeling the answer is going to be basically along the lines of "Sorry Charlie ..."
One good thing about the XTH is that I started observing matches - for the most part they're very interesting. I do admire Mesmers.

Ok, then check this quote :
Quote:
The May Xunlai Tournament House points distribution took place on June 18. During the distribution, problems occurred. Although many players received their points, some players did not get the correct number of points, and some players who voted did not receive any points at all. As you know, people normally get 5 points just for voting. Our team has been working to assess the situation and take care of the errors that caused the distribution issues.
We have the correct point distribution records of all those who participated in the Xunlai Tournament House for the May tournaments, and they will get the correct number of points, whether they contacted Customer Support or not.

When I read the thread title in Riverside I thought 'oh, you gonna announce that you had run into next problems and that we won't see anything done till summer' and was about to say 'you might as well remove it altogether' and then I read the first post ... looks like I'm reading someone's mind hahaha
Good job Anet, forget this bullshit Xunlai was and move on! Better late than never!

I remember there was one month where I didn't even vote and I got quite a few reward points.
Anyways, I'm not too surprised by this announcement.
RIP XTH.

Before the massive wave of people complaining about the "incompetence" of ArenaNet storm this thread, take the following into account:
The developers would rather work on the actual game than a predictions module.
That's a win in my book =)

I agree with that, i dont mind that XTH is gone, but they should keep the promise on those may reward points.
Especially after keeping us in the dark so long. (Most of us knew it wouldnt come back though)

Translation - Magic 8-ball told us not to do it.
Um, duh?
Really, like this could not be figured out?
And she posts about this, and NOT about the skill update that is 2 months late...

Haha. That would be awesome!
Im guessing our extra mystery reward at the upcoming event is supposed to make up for the lack of XTH.
Sigh. Im sad the house is gone, but yes, its better for them to spend the resources on GW2 instead. I wonder how long they've known it wasn't coming back?

We'd need to WORK to fix TA.
Oh well, we'll just remove it.
We'd need to WORK to fix HB.
Oh well, we'll just remove it.
We'd need to WORK to fix XTH.
Oh well, we'll just remove it.
We'd need to WORK to fix certain skills.
Oh well, we'll just remove them.
I wish to go on record and say that rangers and mesmer in PvE and the FA map are COMPLETELY fine.
Consider whatever I said that contradicts this statement to be non-existent.
Ohh, and titles are completely and utterly broken!

I agree, too. I knew it was gone, and I'd rather them work on the game than the XTH (although, I sincerely doubt they worked on the XTH for 8 months).
However, many of us didn't get the TRPs we were owed....even a few some of us earned....

Many months have passed by since most of the dumby accts purchased specifically for the XTH have slipped into acoma. While the passing of the XTH has finally come, it doesnt make it any easier knowing all this time that these accounts would eventually move on.
Im greatly saddened for the lost of everyone's extra purchased accts. We all knew that this day was coming. For this, I wish to pass along my condolences to all the people who have lost so greatly.
To the people whom had bought 1 or 2 extra...I'm very saddened...including myself.
.....and to the people who were rumored to have over 50 accts specifically to collect free keys ..........Theres an very old wise phrase that has been passed down from generation to generation from 1000's of years ago...
Sux To Be Ju!!!!
R.I.P extra accts specifically purchased for the XTH R.I.P
P.S. Could we trade in three tyrian accts for say..one eotn upgrade???? good deal no? Win win??? perrty please?
Edit. Well I guess Nicholas could get some extra visitors when in Tyria if i feel like moving chars foward.......bahhhh!
