Missed something on Perdition Rock?

Went in a party from Ember Light Camp to Ring of Fire. When we were in the north I noticed some party members fast entering and leaving a building. Than someone asked if we all has spoken to the guy and before I could ask "what guy?" we entered the Ring of Fire. I did not bother at to ask further at that time since I had to go, but still I wonder what it was about

It's a quest you do there that basically leads you to the next area, Ring of Fire.

You run to that point, kill a couple bosses, talk to a NPC, then when group is ready, it teleports them to Ring of Fire.

Than I did not talk to the NPC in the end, but we still got teleported to the Ring of Fire. Maybe only a couple of players need to talk?

That means you probably still have that quest in your Quest window. After talking to the guy at the docks, once entering ring of fire you cant alk to a guy there to get the quest reward. I believe it's only 500 exp, so if you don't need attb or skill points that bad, abandon it. Otherwise go and do the quest again.
