Question Meloni bug

Yesterday, inexplicably, I noticed that Meloni was standing around shrugging her shoulders, whether in mission or just in the inventory view. She refuses to equip *any* weapon, including her scythe. I have equipped, re-equipped, had GW "repair data", and let her rest overnight. All to no avail. She is the only hero to do this (so far, knock wood) and only on one 'toon on one acct (haven't checked the other acct yet).

Does anyone know how to fix this or had this happen to them?

Make sure Meloni is not set to Avoid Combat and you are not trying to equip her with a customized weapon for another char on your account.

I know you're trying to help, but I've been playing since right after beta .

She's set to "protect the squishy party members" and has her very own scythe. This is the only 'toon ever so far having this problem with her. And it only started yesterday. Granted, I haven't had much play time lately, but........

For you individuals who posted "must be that time of the month", you're not really that funny nor was the 'thought' cute. Rather offensive, truth be told.

Does it happen on all your toons?

To be honest, I rarely take her out unless required by mission or quest on my main acct - but this acct is only a 2-campaign acct (Proph and NF) and the heroes help tremendously at times.

Took Meloni out a few days ago and there was no trouble. I could not honestly say if there was a problem yesterday specifically before I launched the Divinity Coast mission (wherein I noticed the problem) or not.

Guess I'll load into the main acct and see what she's doing there.

Yes, it affects BOTH accounts, all characters (who have Meloni as hero). She is the only hero who is acting this way. And GW "repaired data archives" already.

It seems only you're affected.
Have you posted this on Support forums?
Wait for their reply until you really need her, then make complete reinstal.

Thanks - just reported it to the official Support. I was hoping that someone else had noticed a similar problem here and knew what to do.

Crazy thing - I don't remember the problem being present until after the auto-repair of the .dat archives................

Check her skills, my Koss was doing that when ever I had "apply poison" on his skill bar. I changed it to "poison tip signet" and he started fighting again.

At the helpful suggestion of a player at the GW Support forums, I tested her against Master of Damage. Every time she shrugs her shoulders in battle, she does a token amount of damage. She does use the non-scythe skills but not consistently. So it seems it's some sort of weird display and data corruption.

Why, with 17 characters and all the assorted heroes, she is the only one who suddenly developed this peculiarity --- who knows. Hopefully GW Support can guide me to a fix.

Most likely they will tell you to rebuild the dat file (instead of repairing it) from scratch.

Let's hope not since the original problem seems to have been introduced with their automatic repair data archives that was neither asked for nor needed as far as I could tell.

Can that be turned off or something? At least taken off the "whenever some bot somewhere decides there needs to be a repair, it starts" list?

Used a previous back-up copy stored on a flash drive. While it took several minutes to download the recent updates, Meloni now holds and wields her scythe again. I even gave her nearly all scythe-based skills so she doesn't get confused in future!

Thanks for all who tried to help. As long as the game doesn't erroneously decide mine needs "fixing" again, should be okay.

I'm glad you solved it.
I always completely remove GW and reinstall from install DVD when I have some issues like that. It always helps.
