Can you cast Life Barrier {Elite} on yourself?

Description
While you maintain this Enchantment, damage dealt to target other ally is reduced by 20-44%. If your health is below 50% when that ally takes damage, Life Barrier ends.

well its the only reasonable explanation for why our bonder once did absolutely nothing the entire match, yet wasnt afk. he was trying to bond himself.
