One thing that really annoys me is when people insist that volunteers do not need to reach any type of standard of performance. If anything, volunteers should be scrutinised more closely because they find it easier to ignore standards. When you become a volunteer, you still have to agree to the standards of the organisation that you are representing. That is the crux of the matter here; representation of an organisation or body.
I really cannot imagine why anyone would say that I am mistaken about this, it comes down to ethics both intrinsic and extrinsic.
If I wish to complain about the lack of standards and the performance deficits of members of staff of this forum site, then it should be examined and not cast aside.
Note the continuing lack of responses to posted threads, and that responses from the moderators quite often do not answer the questions at all. In fact, a most obvious example of this is the thread concerning lost auctions. The thread was answered by two moderators and niether of them assessed the issue. Another would be the way I personally was treated and spoken to by a moderator in emails. I cannot imagine that any organisation would support the behaviour and attitude I received.
