How to kill Doppelganger - Guide to all classes

Just ascended with my lvl 11 necro, only got to lvl 17 though =/

I used:

Demonic flesh
enfeebling blood
signet of agony
chillbains
awaken the blood (supprisingly dopple always used it first)
retribution (monk)
dark pact
rend enchantments

I just ran around and let him cast dark pact on me untill his health dropped to almost nothing adn then cast dark pact back to him and he died.

people are always telling me how hard it is to kill dopple with a monk!
i thought i would just make up my own build for to see how "hard" it realy was.

with mo/me he was dead in 9 seconds.
the trick: use retibution before u go in, take 1 long lasting hex, and shatter hex. beaf up domination and smiting and just use as many smiting atacks as possible. he will do lots of dmg to u but cos of retibution he wil die 1st.

so gone on, have a litle smite fest with the dopple!

Well yeah with mo/me just use the Mesmer Shutdown build but for anything else take Healing Breeze ONLY and a good wand and wand him to death. Last I checked he DOES NOT use Healing Breeze.

Any ideas how to beat the mirror with a lvl 12 N/Me? I've tried several different builds but they aren't working for me. It usually just bows/axes me to death without even using a single skill or just uses 1 skill...also he runs faster then I do (seems like he uses sprint or something...)

uhmmmmm i beat my dopple at lvl 6 n/me you need to bring ALL sacrificing skills, including awaken the blood...he will kill himself in about 15 secs or so

W/Mo's have it pretty damn easy, my first ascension was messed up. As I hit the 3 stones and the cinematic ended i got some major choppy lag. I tried to kill him but the lag was so bad i died, but something messed up happened, because of the lag it thought i actually killed him, i even got the bonus too lmao, so i was lvl like 15 now 20, except one thing, since i died yet i won too, it sent me back to town without the final cinematic, and i didnt have dragons lair...so i just got 51k exp hah...So i just killed him again in like 5 seconds without lag and got dragons lair.

Just done it as a Me/Mo with 4 skills:

Empathy
Backfire
Orison of Healing
Scourge Healing

Points spread around in Fast Casting, Domination Magic and Smiting Prayers, no points in Healing Prayers.

Casted Backfire, Empathy and Scourge Healing as I entered. The Doppelganger killed himself rather quickly I must say. No need to strafe arrows.

Here's what I did last night:

Mo/N lvl 20
Heal 5 (3+2)
Smite 13 (12+1)
Divine 11 (10+1) I think
Life attunement, Holy Veil, Banish, Smite, Bane Sig, Holy Strike, Symbol of Wrath, Healing Touch

Note: The Doppleganger did NOT use the skills in the order of my skill bar. Several people have claimed that it will, but that is not always the case. Also, it used banish more than once but never used Holy Veil, although it did use Life Attune.

Since many of these skills are conditional (ie if foe is attacking) I did not attack so that I would not take full damage, the doppleganger is not that smart...

The fight lasted about 25-30 seconds. It was my first try with a monk. My take on the Doppleganger is to use conditional skills and then DON't meet the requirements of the skill's condition. For example if the skills says 'if attacking, target takes...' then you should not be attacking when the dopple gets you with it.

I used Healing touch once and the dopple used it a few times. It SEEMED like I got more benefit from the heal. Does any one know if the Doppleganger has any attribute points in your 'primary only' attribute?

the easiest way is to take the least amount of skill into the battle. Use an interrupt skill, healing skill and a low decoy skill for your mirror Doppleganger to interrupt.

Wow I did not see anyone posting the easy way to kill off you dopple. It not what you dring to the fight, its how you bring it that counts. Watch your clone closely and you will see they key, once you see it, you will smack your forehead for its so simple.

mo/me or me/mo i haven't seena diversion orison build.
You cast a couple of smiting skills then diversion.
He has lost orison for 45 secs maybe? you don't use orison when he uses diversion (only lasts 6 secs) then just go back to attacking him and healing yourself with orison.

Yet untried but it should work but probably no bonus.

I took doppel as Ranger/monk on 14. Used:

Distracting shot (used when he casts Troll)
Bane signet (in case he uses DS)
Troll
Poison Arrow (I counter with Troll)
Whirling Defense (doppel does this second)
Winter, and 2 other beast skills.

Opens up he casts winter, I poison. Rush him, he changes to axe, negating DS. He uses Whirling, and pounds me for 15 seconds, I use bane sig, then Whirling ends... I poison, he tries Troll I use DS, whirling, and its over. He's dead in under 60 seconds, and whirling hasnt recharged. Troll is out for 20 seconds, and DS can counter it over and over. Its not the best approach Im sure, but it works.

Ranger and war, I think, are the easyest beat dople.
For ranger you just get a bunch of bow skills, a disruping skill and troll, move close interupt his troll and fire away.
Warior you just load up on sword skills and hack like theres no tomorrow.

i killed my doppleganger with my monk in about 15 to 20 secs.

i put max on smiting prayers, the rest on divine favor.

take following skill with u:

bane signet, banish, balthasars aura, symbol of wrath, frenzy, retribution, (the rest useless skills like resurrect or something)

use it like that:

use retribution before u enter arena
ur enemy will use frenzy(u shouldnt use it)
->he takes double dmg, u use balthasars aura and symbol of wrath. till he runs away he is nearly done, u take bane signet and banish and he is dead

OK well ima W/Me, and this is the build i used.

Frenzy- obviously dont use it, let him do the work for you
Spirit Shackles- Cast it on him and let him bring down his energy.

Any kinda damage spells that require energy. Your dopple wont use them seeing as he wont have any energy due to Spirit Shackles.
I personally like Glad's Defence, Swift Chop, Cyclone Axe, Power attack, etc.

All necro primaries and secondaries can beat the Doppel in about 10 seconds. Take ONLY these skills:

Awaken the Blood
Verata's Aura

When the battle starts, type /sit. Just watch...

That worked for me. I had to switch out verata's for blinding flash and defile corpse, since its a pain to get to copperhammer before ascendance.

I just beat it with my Mo/N in seconds, I was lvl 14.
10 smiting

1.Balthazars aura
2.Symbol of Wrath
3.Bane Signet
4.Smite
5.Banish
6.Chilblains

Use balths aura amd SoB first, then spam with bane sig smite and banish. DONT USE CHILBLAINS he uses it and poisons himself

I did the same thing, without difficulty. It's not luck, its a matter of better using your skills. Having warrior experience in PvP, I know what to use when to use it. Dopple doesn't know what he's doing, just spamming skills.
