I think it's pretty stupid the Doppelganger can use Sword (and probably Hammer) Skills with an axe..

I took my Mo/E doppelganger out with:
Retribution
Zealot's Fire
Balthazar's Aura
Symbol of Wrath
Reversal of Fortune
My doppleganger went down before my balthazar's aura had recharged.

I took out my doppelganger out with my E/Me:
Flare
Aura of Restoration
Gyph of Lesser Energy
Meteor
Fireball
Inferno
Meteor Shower
and Resurection Signet
I had forgotten to switch to Air Elementalist so I just cast Aura first then Meteor Shower, Meteor, Fireball, ran up to it and did Inferno, and ran back out and pounded it with flares.

For elementalists the best way is properly using Ether Renewal with * Attunement and Aura of Restoration, and any damage skills.

mo/E vs doppleganger ascension
I took advice from thread and on the second attempt I beat her. Used Holy something(wrath ?) and Retribution before entering the temple with her. Also brought some useless heal spell that does a small area.... Hit her with my wand of smiting until she croaked. Close call though...
Cranked up smiting skill prior also.
Thanks for the tips. Glad to be past her....

He got off three Cyclone Axes and *somehow* an Executioner's Strike before I beat him down... 31 seconds, the standing record in my guild. Used my standard build at the time and had zero problem.

Yeah, Monks must crank up smite. You don't need your secondary.

mes has to be the easiest, hex breaker before, the second you get in backfire him with fastcast and then empathy, and he should beat himself down to almost 1/4th or less just with attempting to cast. if backfire runs out, finish him off with a powerspike.
beat my double in 14 sec i think

For my ele, I spread my points in energy storage, air and fire.
Had blinding flash and conjure flame on my skill bar. Filled the rest of my skill bar with useless skills.
Bring a max damage fire wand or staff. Cast blinding flash on him at start, then conjure flame. Now periodically cast blinding flash on him keeping him blind while you use your fire staff or wand to kill him.

For my E/Me, I used Backfire as soon as I got in and then empathy right after that and he was gone just 1 second after I casted empathy. I also put in some useless mesmer and ele skills that do little damage. I didnt put any attributes into any ele skills. I just loaded up on domination magic.

I have a better way so you can bash his head in quick. Bring a good dmg weapon(if secondary ranger, bow works best) and max up in divine favor. Bring Divine Boon and Healing Breeze and cast Boon on ytouirself. Then charge him with the weapon(dont bring any spells but breeze and boon) and kick his ass. Takes 10 second max

As a Ranger/Monk I loaded up my bar with Ranger preps and healing breeze. I found that he/it would spend lots of time casting the preps while I shot him. However, once he started shooting at me he was MUCH better than I. So, my daughter suggested I just charge him. He pulled out the axe and started hitting me. Since I have no axe skills he was pathetic with it. Oh sure he was doing damage to me, but rather than doing +96 with a bow he was doing +12 with the axe. My bow was doing +30 or so. It was then just a matter of time. Healing breeze brought me back up and he never seemed to get to it once we were engaged he just used the axe.

well, i havent heard to many strategies for a warrior, so here's mine.
take in all the weapon skills you normally use, and your healing signet. i personally use an axe, as does the mirror so yea. but the one skill you must bring with all this is distracting blow.
go in, and start wailing away with all your skills, if he tries to heal, just whack him with distracting blow. he wont heal then. apparently the double doesnt use this, as i was able to heal myself once. and thats all it took. like 30sec and he was dead.

The Doppleganger moves sometimes now. I don't know when this change happened, but my ElMe saw him actually run out from my meteor shower. He stood in it a while, so I'm not sure what triggered him running -- I still beat him without much trouble by using both Empathy and Backfire.

Ok I am a N/Mo and I have serious trouble killing my doppleganger. I tried up to 10 times now and have blood sacrifice spells in my spellslot (Blood Ritual, Blood of the Master, Signet of Agony and Plague sending) but my doppleganger wont use them and just disable me with his damned bow..
Someone an idea for me how to take him out? Might it also be because I do not have any attribute points in Blood Magic that he doesnt cast anything.. ?

i fought my mirror without using any skills. (i'm a w/e, which is lame)
i believe the bring a hammer and hammer skills because your mirror only uses an axe/axe skills method doesn't work. i guess anet changed it because i got this one hammer right but i forgot to equip with me( -_- ) and i had put in all these hammer skills in my bar lol. so i went in there with my axe and a bunch of hammer skills. so i'm like "shit i'm a stupid @&!&^%" then i decided i might as well try since the fool was attacking me with his arrows. so i start using my axe on him. he uses his AND hammer attacks. by this point i'm like "wtf i'm screwed." but i magically kill him off in a minute with my axe
i'm not sure why this happened though maybe because i didn't change my attribute points. i had like 12 on axe mastery, 11 on strength, and 3 or so in tactics. the mirror has the same attribute levels right?
you should try it out lol.

as a r/mo it took me about 12 tries to finally figure out the truth: that thing would always kick my ass if i brought healing spells.
so, i piled up on damaging bow attacks and distracting shot.
charge the doppelganger, and the game is over.

the way i beat him with a necro was to crank up curses and bring price of failure.
then just hit qeqeqeqeqeqeqeqe etc to dodge the doppels ranged attacks... she goes down quick... blood sacrifice spells help as well (as long as they don't heal in any way shape or form).
you just let them kill themselves
