I was actually surprised how easy my doppler went down. Fire eles have it easiest tho. Just nuke him/her with Meteor Shower, Fire Storm, etc and it goes down in seconds. I actually prefer Meteor (casts faster) followed by Meteor Storm.

BTW, what's the bonus on that mission? Or was there one? The cinematic came up so fast, I didn't even see the XP I got from it. So what did I miss?

I was sword warrior and I beat him in about 10 seconds... so easy, and I was even using Frenzy myself (it was my first time so I just went psycho on the guy).

I think the bonus is doing it within a set amount of time? Not sure though cos I don't remember if I got it or not. But it's the only way they could possibly put a bonus in that mission, I mean all you do is step on some stones and then kill a guy...there's nowhere else to go

For my Elementalist/Mesmer (Air Magic), I used the following:

1. Aura of Restoration
2. Lightning Orb
3. Lightning Strike
4. Lightning Javelin

I cast Aura first, then hit the Doppleganger with Orb, Strike, and Javelin - interchangeably.

It took about 5-10 seconds.

Well for all professions with monk (primary or secondary doesnt matter) all you need is healing breeze and a weapon! Doppelganger doesnt use healing breeze and therefore you will kill him easily

Hope this helps some people who might be stuck against the double. Any errors, omissions, typos, mistakes in grammar.. Post on the thread, and I'll try to correct them.

I'm a Warrior/necro and the way i killed him was using useless skills

I saw he had an axe and a bow as weapon and i have a sword so i equipped all my sword skills

The bastard was finisched in 25 seconds

I ended up in the Doppelgangerfight before I knew, what was happening. Got slaughtered..
So, I went to this forum, read up your tip und did as was told.

Just sat back and watched the show after that. Thank you very much...

Is ur doppleganger supposed to be the same lvl as you? i never really payed attention to it before, but now im trying to fight it with my lvl 13 mesmer, and i noticed hes lvl20, so hes pretty hard to kill at my low lvl.

My E/Me took out the Mirror with Flare/Backfire. Flare lowers the thing's damage because Flare kinda sucks, and Backfire did alot of damage because Backfire Rocks.

Empathy helped too; don't remember what else I brought, except that they weren't interrupts.

:P Tried beating the mirror with all of my normal skills before looking for help.. Me/N is really easy to beat just have all of the blood sacrifice spells + Empathy and Price of failure . I dont think I got the bonus but that works

This almost felt like cheating... as a mesmer with no real elementalist skill to speak of, I just equipped:

Backfire
4 Different Mantras of elemental things
Armor of Earth (or whatever that is)
2 Wards

Yep. The guy sat there casting spell after spell... and taking 126 damage each time. I poked him with my staff a couple times. So... freakin'... cheap.

Question, though... about the Doppleganger's armor... does he copy that, go a bit stronger (as with your attributes), or does he just come with a pre-set armor class?

monk/me here skill bar set up in this order

backfire empathy phantasm symbol of wrath imagined burden etheral burden healing breeze reversal of fortune

before you enter fight right before you step on last pad cast healing breeze and reversal of fortune start fight

pop backfire and empathy and then hit conjur phantasm 2x and dopplinger will die in less then 50seconds

dopplinger will use the two slow skills and phantasm on you

my point allocation was this

dom 9 illusion 2
healing 3
smiting 8
protection 6

obviously the things you need for this is dom9 and max illusion for this to be real successful...and point some points into healing for your breeze and reversal should win no sweat

The ranger doppleganger is the easiest to beat. Equip a bow, distracting shot, and troll unguent, and get within melee range of the shadow. He'll switch to an axe. You can interrupt his healing and he can't do anything about yours.

Why do people think so hard about this stuff? You should have the experience to smok the doppel pretty easily.

As a fire elem, I didn't even USE meteor shower and I still beat it First try, in 20 seconds.

Just go in and do your thing. If you don't know what skills would work, maybe you don't know your skill set well enough.

The double DEFINATELY USED METEOR SHOWER... that is the first thing he casts. Let him cast it and wait.. as you see it fire off then run.
Now run straight at him use Glyph (-15 energy damage) and return the meteor. As your right next to him he wont back off because hes locked on you. He gets pounded now and he will get knocked down by the meteors disrupting his spells. Use Lavafont and Phoenix.. the rest is history.

Determined not to switch my attribs I beat him in short order as a E/Mo Geomancer.

Earthquake
Aftershock
Obsidian Flame
Stoning
4*Elemental Attunements

As expected the first thing he did was start putting up the attunements

Run up, 1...2...3...4...dead

Elapsed time: I think around 15s. certainly only 1-2s more than the combined casting time of the skills
