GW2 coming in 2010/2011
First of all, this is not a QQ thread. I'm not even waiting on GW2 atm. This picture was just posted on an Aion fansite and I thought you may want to see it (sorry if it has been posted before).

if thats true, then i hope anet has something instore for GW, cause by then GW will be dead. Also it only says "to be announced" which means it could be pushed back to even longer.

Yup. Maybe it'll be even later than 2011.. Aion's release date has been pushed back a few times as well.

I not sure that chart is right tbh. Everything Ive looked at has Aion coming out in May which is no where near q4 2009 and its already out in Japan has been.

Truly means nothing, most of those accounts belong to RMT and I have a few friends that have 20-30 accounts etc., as I'm sure a bunch of other have done the same thing I have 3 accounts my self nothing like having 30 account and 600 free zkeys a month.

NCsoft never said May, that was all speculations. They only said '2009'. And no, Aion hasn't been released yet in Japan. It's released in Korea only.
Even if it wasn't coming from NCsoft, it would still be unlikely to come in 2009/2010. Think about it, we have no information at all on Guild Wars 2.

Anet did say they were planning on new updates on content for every quarter. No specifics yet.

I guess there will be some major updates to GW, but as Regina has said theyre going to be pretty much quarterly. They will have to really really REALLY be game-changing to keep players till late 2011/12.

Put it this way guys, if this is true, still doesn't rule out a 2009 BETA

Well I think it does. If its going to be 2010/11 it means theres still much left to do, and Anet has said that they will be doing the beta closer to release date because they want to impress us the first time we see it.

I think that number means everything. Revenues are made from accounts and chapters sold, not active players.
Guild Wars 1 was/is a pretty darn solid success, and no game came before it. It's not unreasonable to think Guild Wars 2 will also be a success, considering how much Anet has learned about development and making a fun game, their record of supporting their game (especially compared to most other developers), and millions of folks who had a good time with Guild Wars.
It's okay if you don't play Guild Wars. If you want to take an extended break, that's fine. I really don't see anyone complaining that you can't move achievements over from Diablo II to Diablo III.
I beat Mass Effect in 12 hours, and played the same amount I did for Guild Wars, which I played for over 600 hours before Factions. I will gladly buy sequels for both. Lighten up a little.

Well that's disappointing, but not completely unexpected.
I mean, think about it. I wouldn't have expected ANet to dedicate resources and commit to new content in GW1 if they didn't think GW2 was further away than they anticipated.
Nice find, btw.

*EDIT
In addition, changes to storage were a bit of an eye-opener. That's a change I wouldn't have committed to if I knew GW2 was right around the bend.

They don't have too. I am pretty sure that most of the GW2 players have not heard before of the original one. They just need a good marketing strategy in 2011 and a little reference that their previous game was a long term success (4 years and counting).
It all depends of the quality of the product. No one cares if you keep playing till then or not. If GWII is a kick ass game many will pick it up, if not even those die hard fans will back off.
Nice find!

Holy Cow did they buy each copy themselves, or did other people buy them and they acquired however....still equals purchased accounts at some point. Doubt ANET cares if one person bought 100 accounts or just 1. I guess if you really have the inclination to log into Xhouse 30 different times and go make selections they deserve the zkeys. Logging in 30 times to Xhouse then log in to GW 30 times once a month, ICK. No thanks 2 is enough for me, damn spreadsheet to just keep track of the email addresses.
You will always have people with multiple accounts with any MMO just not as many due to monthly fees.
Still hope to see PC Gamer article with a GW2 preview/slyvari mini
