Yeah, only 2 years instead of 10, but still. Is it possible that GW2 will keep the promise that SC2 broke? We can only hope...

Speaking solely for myself: I began this two year wait hyped and with high expectations, waiting for Gaile's timeline to get info, then a beta. After that had changed I began feeling a bit worried about when the info would start being handed out. After a year and a half wait I was really discouraged about the lack of info and started really listening to the "vaporware" cry. I've posted many times about my concerns and fears, but never looking to squash someone else's enthusiasm, but more for theirs to help me through the waiting. Sometimes I got what I needed, most times I got a quick cyberkick in my backseat.
Now it looks like the wait for some real information will soon be over, and I couldn't be more excited! I'm so glad that my fears bred out of impatience were just that and not a real problem with the development of the game.
I've been a Guild Wars fanboy since my son introduced me to it less than a year out of beta (he has been here since the beginning). It is the ONLY mmo I've consistently played and I still enjoy most of what it has to offer even with some of the changes it has gone through. In fact, I believe most of the current GW1 problems stem more from the in-game community than the game itself.
Mike, Regina, and all others of ArenaNet, Thank you for finally coming through with the info even us doubters have secretly been pining for! Thanks for putting up with the negativity some of us have brought to the forums. Again I can only speak for myself, but it has always been because I loved the game so much, that I was so desperately frustrated with the lack of information about it. Hope I wasn't too much of an ass the past year.
I'm really looking forward to getting a glimpse at what you've been working so hard on! You've made an old pc gamer very happy today!!!
P.S. And if it isn't too much to ask, can I have my z-keys soon

This is not info. It is a pretty logo (like the first one we saw in 2007) and more of "soon."
Come back to me when there's actual info. A trailer would be nice, but it won't tell me much about the game beyond how pretty it looks.
And yeah, the logo does make me think of Dragon Age way too much. I hope the game is better than both of their GW2 logos.

Honestly...the dev team could have shaped fecal matter into a GW 2 logo, sent us a pic, and there would still be Guru members excited about it.

I guess I've been waiting too long and am suffering some kind of burn out... not at all excited, zero hype, not actually interested yet... maybe that will change when they actually release a trailer or some tangible information...
As for the suggestions of adding some Jeremy Soule music to the animated logo... yeah, no. Jeremy Soule is the reason I play Guild Wars with the music off, and have always done so. I turn it back on for each new campaign release and can only endure it for a few a days at best... terrible, unoriginal and uninspired elevator music. Bioware using a Marilyn Manson track for their trailer was laughably bad, and earned much scorn from forum dwellers, in Bioware's defense... at least it wasn't Jeremy Soule.
I do find the timing interesting, Jeff Strain leaves out of the blue (seemingly so, from our perspective) and then Mike O'Brien is leading a charge with the promise of GW2 information...
Oh well, will wait for something of substance...

Yes I did. Oddly enough, there wasn't any actual info about GW2.
