It makes for easier reading.

Can you be more specific? The forum will automatically resize images to (I think) 800x600 or whatever you've got it set to in your user cp, so that shouldn't be an issue. Otherwise I'm not sure what you're talking about that would make the forum resize inappropriately.

It does when the images are massive in file size. Has to load them (even from remote hosts) before the forum can resize to your options. As was an issue in image posting threads such as, Speedclear records - vanquishes blah blah

Sorry.

Fixed width for the forum layout. Basically take the already existing forum layout but give it a set size regardless of the browser window. The slightly altered layout would show in the layout menu in the bottom left and wouldn't be a change for people who already use or prefer the fluid width.

Oh god no. Die fixed width die. Id rather have all my screen taken up by forum instead of Vertical Letterbox on both sides.

Sorry but we have no current plans of implementing fixed width.

It wouldn't matter to you since you'd be using the fluid version.

May I please have a reason to why not and if it would be considered in the future?

We won't be maintaining multiple themes.
