Ruins of Surmia is a Mission. I believe you only need to make sure Prince Rurik is alive to complete the mission, Erol doesn't matter.

Some advice - before letting the Prince and Erol over the bridge, go and clear out all the charr 1st. Forget what Prince says about ignore them.. since they both run right into them anyways :P

I've cleared out that group 1st go with my E/Mo, R/Mo & N/Mo so I know it can be done. W/Mo might have a harder time.. but they can then just pull little group's aside... Me/W .. shouldn't be too bad. The key to beating the big group is to take it slowly and pull small group's out.. and you can do this best if your comming down the hill from the back (where the 3 pedastals are).

Basically clear the path along the right side.. ignore the big group for now.. go kill the boss by the lever.. then go to the pedastal area and kill the group's of charr around it... I found if you wait they will come for you (but you'll get no "support" from pedastal damage.. but thats not needed) as if you were there with the prince.. once those 4 groups are taken care of.. go down the hill and pull/isolate group's from the main group and take em out slowly..

Then laugh when Prince Rurik says "We must avoid that group at all costs!" since there will be no Charr there at all.. hehehehehe

haha I did the same thing, killed all the charr, then dropped the bridge for Rurik and followed him as he's directing me to avoid the charr, only to end up having us all stand around at the end with nothing to do.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter if Erol dies.
