Eles with swords

Hi, I've been wondering... In the Screenshot thread, lots of eles seem to use sword?
Which build would they run, and which mods on the swords?

Yeah, eles have also started using swords ,same like the monks have been doing for a while.
Monks do it for the +5 energy always and the enchanment last 20 % longer.
I'm pretty sure its the same thing for the eles and the build doesnt matter its just so you have those bonuses.

Wands are borningwith the new inscription thing you can basically mod anything you want if you find a sword that you think will look good on an Ele why not use it if you get the same bonuses

One reason: Swords look cooler in the screenshots. Or they're running an earth/sword build. Like me - I run Earth, Sword and Tactics, with the remaining points dumped in Energy Storage, and I don't use a +5 energy weapon, or even an inscribable weapon - I use a 16 month old, req 8, 14% while enchanted Wingblade

In terms of practical use though, I would expect more would use a +5/+20% Spear over a Sword, but maybe that's just me?

I use a totem axe for the +5 energy and +20% mod. If you're doing point-blank spells like Inferno, Crystal Wave, Symbol of Wrath, etc then attacking with it brings you into range for the spells.

I'd say mostly it is for the mods though. I keep the totem axe in an alt slot and swap there when using an enchantment and swap back to the staff for normal casting.

They could do it for looks or for touch skills
My Zhed he Shadowhoof uses a sword and a prism(focus) that gives same energy but with way more damage dealt as it is E/W and a fiery gladius, using Conjure Flames kill making the damage of a warrior + 21 damage with skills like starburst, inferno to completely Immolate the enemy/s
