Default Axe Warriors will always be > Sword Warriors, apparently

One of the new Axe elite skills; 10 energy (might've been 5) 10s reset, 3 attacks, +10...?? damage on each attack, each attacks hits the target and all adjacent foes.
Sword elite, Hundred Blades; 5 energy 8s reset, 2 attacks, hits target and all adjacent foes.

Anet apparently does, and always will hate sword warriors, or atleast love them much less than axe ones.

Huh?
Hundred Blades has a shorter recharge. We need to see if it balanced. On paper it seems ok.

Hate/love? Its a skill. Why would they prefer one over the other? You seem to be overreacting.

He's talking about triple chop, I'm fairly certain. Swordsmanship has gained some decent skills as far as i can tell, but my biggest gripe is the huge adrenaline requirement of most of them. (There a lot of 10s if you go to a priest of balthazar and look at sword skills.)

It's only 5 more energy and a 2s higher reset, and the +damage more than doubles the damage per attack, and gets another attack compared to hundred blades.
Hundred Blades: -12.. -14
Triple Chop: -32.. -35.. -29

The strongest aspect of Swordsmanship is that you do not need an elite attack skill to have a decent spike ability in PvP. Sever -> Gash -> Final is already awesome. Final Thrust is one of those skills that if it was any more good, it would be an elite. As it is, you get a great skill and a free elite slot.

Now they could buff final thrust a bit, and make it an elite... personally I would rather they left it as it is.

Did you even read the skill description? "Attack target foe and adjacent foes. Each attack that hits deals +X damage".

Just because it's called triple chop doesn't mean it hits the target 3 times. It'll outdamage Hundred Blades by a little, but HB recharges faster, and multiplies buffs, which Triple Chop does not. No need to get worked up.

Hundred blades can also potentially charge adrenaline much faster than triple chop. It's been said before, but people, stop comparing axe spike elite skills to a utility skill like hundred blades. JR is quite right. Everyone who complains/boasts that axe is better than sword, not once is final thrust mentioned.

The other thing you HAVE to bear in mind is 10 energy is a full 50% of a default warriors total energy. Thats 15 seconds to regen energy - a lot in any situation, especially if you have other energy dependant skills. By the way, Signet of Strength is very nice.

I used Triple Chop at the backstage pass event.

It does NOT hit each person three times. It hits the target and all foes adjacent to the target. ONCE.

Four guys standing next to each other --> Triple Chop --> Four yellow damage numbers.

So calm down.

[edit -- i used Signet of Strength at the backstage pass event also... yeah, really freakin nice]

The real question is, is Triple Chop better than Eviscerate. Because no one's going to use it if it's not...

well it is for adrenal gain.

triple + cyclone + vast numbers = lots of adrenal

other than that not really it doesn't cause deep wound which is one of the best things about evis in the spike world

For PvP? Not even close. A simple kite takes away any advantage of TC. AoE spell is hard enough in PvP to be effective, let alone a melee attack from a warrior.

Deep Wound is what makes Evisc so good for pressure or spike - especially warrior pressure.

Triple chop is only better if you don't plan on putting a deep wound on your bar. New sword elite that gives you +adrenaline and +dmg when it lands is pretty nice, sword might have good spiking capability with that and all the new +dmg attacks.

Who uses Final Thrust when you can use Brutual Strike! Sorry... I have to bring it up. lol

A mini-version of Sword Warrior = Pet. Brutual Strike +37 damage at lvl 16 and when the target's health is below 50%, you add another +37. 10E, 5s.

I vote for 100blades to be removed from its elite slot be just a regular skill, maybe a little debuffed to fit the role, or they better strengthen it to just lower sword skills cost in general.

Sword isn't all that bad, since you don't really need a Sword Elite. Played as W/N with Swords and Grenth's Balance: Love it!

Ugh, just ignore whatever I say, I don't actually care about any of this. And I wasnt freaking out, so there's no need to say calm down. I'm just someone who's been bored of the game and hasnt played in months, and was completely dissapointed with how the expansion is turning out so far, so I had to complain. I have way too many problems with where this expanion is heading to mention. Basically, I problebly won't even be playing it.

I dont know the new sword elite dragon slash is very strong from what I have seen. That and Sun+moon slash is just too sweet and if you throw in "For great justice" you get 20 seconds of spaming the 2 mentioned sword skills

@12 swords
Dragon slash {e} 10 adrenaline - strike for +34 and gain 4 adrenaline
Sun+moon - 8 adrenaline - strike twice
FGJ - adrenal skills charge 50% faster

Once Sun+ moon gets charged you use FGJ and then you just spam Sun+moon, Dragon for 20 seconds, its pretty powerful really.
