Ok maybe I'm missing something but people are sayin druid armor is awesome, but the ranger's hunter armor has all the same stats and more. So why would you take druid armor over hunter armor. Am I a retard who missed something or am i right?

I have yet to see hunter's armor. I've made it as far as Ventari's Refuge so far, am level 18, and I still haven't found any. I remember looking at the stats that were posted on gwonline.net from the beta. As I remember, the hunter's armor had +15% piercing damage reduction, while the druid's armor had +energy on all items. Being a R/Mo, I've specifically balanced myself between the two and prefer the +energy over the +piercing mitigation.
It's a personal choice for those that wear leather sets. You choose from +energy (druid), +piercing mitigation (hunter), +fire damage mitigation (drake), +cold damage mitigation (fur), or +lightning damage mitigation (studded).

hmmm i haven't seen any hunters armour yet *that i've noticed* and am at the desert now. I like Druids for the energy but if this hunters one does give the same stats plus piercing that would be nice... *shrugs* i dont remember seeing lightning on the studded either but i didnt really pay much attention to it ;)

yea, i like the Druids armor better. cuz most of the skills i use as a Ranger/Warrior, are energy based, which is quite odd for teh warrior side, but it works... so not only does the druid armor look cool, it helps alot cuz the chest armor gives +8 to energy and the rest of it gives +1. so all in all the druid set gives +11 to energy which is helpful for those casting rangers.

Done every mission in the game, been to every outpost, done every available quest, only have a few things left to do on the veteran maps at the lost temple.
I've not seen this hunter armor you speak of.
I see leather, studded leather, drakescale, fur, and druid armors.
Druid has the best energy and regen, which makes it hands down the best for me. I am a ranger, I usually don't want to be on the front line taking hits, I want to be in the back pumping out as much long range damage as I can---which requires energy far more than ar or resistances.

With Hunters you were supposed to have 25 energy, with Druids you have 31 energy. As far as I can see Hunter's armor was taken out of the game.
Energy is very important for a Ranger / Mez, mainly because a lot of the powerful mez spells use 10-15 energy and a lot of helpful ranger skills are 10 energy. Expertise helps a bit, but unless you have a reason to use elemental armor I'd so go for Druid.
