Hiya!

I have a warrior/monk and a Mesmer/Necromancer and I'd like to know how to kill those fire elementalists. :(
Anyone with a good tac for my characters ?
Thanks in advance!

If you're talking about my Mesmer then I need to spend a lots of attributes into "Domination spells"
And if you look closely, the Cooldown/Recharge time for Backfire is 30 seconds. OMG, that's not fair :(

yeah but you could deal 140 per second with it for 10 seconds...

your w.mo should have no problem beating them unless you have horrid armor (you need at least 80)

What's your Me/N set up? Blood, death, or curses?

Fast Casting: 9
Illusion: 6
Domination: 1

I still have 15 attribute points left to spend.
I'm LvL 14 btw.

Oh, so you aren't actually using the Necro skills at all?

My main comment is to ditch some of that Fast Cast. Nine whole points of Fast Cast doesn't do a damn thing if you don't have any good spells to cast fast!

Toss out a few points from that and convert them into something useful. (Concentrate on three stats usually.) Domination is great for casters. It has Guilt, Backfire, Shackle (that one always annoys the hell out of me,) and a whole slew of awesome interrupts.

Alternatively, you can spec into Blood magic and life the drain the heck out of everyone. This would also give you Well of Blood which is pretty awesome. Blood magic isn't as effective against casters, but it's more effective on the melee guys that will always be chasing you down.

The choice is your of course. On the plus side, if you screw up and don't like your set up, you can just change it back. :D

You would do a lot better if you had a better setup. Fast cast is something for a very specific purpose and if you dont build your setup keeping fast cast in mind, its best that you only put extra points in it that wouldnt otherwise be spent.

Aside from that, with a mez/nec you might try going blood, curses, and illusions.

The weakness will be helpful, and the life stealing spells, and the slowing spells. Rend enchantments is good. The spell to stop a cast and give you lots of mana will be good. Maybe a few DOT spells. Sympathetic Visiage (if I remember right) causes lots of mana and adrenaline loss when they try to hit you and that will cripple their offense terribly.

You probably wont be killing many of them 1 on 1, but thats why its a team game, if you are designated as someone to do disruption and cripple the targets which as a mez/nec you would be really good at, then you need to rely on your buddies to dish out the damage on the targets who you make basically worthless.

Wait, people use fires skills in PvP? HAHA... seriously, you can have loads of fun with them.

Casting times are horrible. Go 5ish in FC and spread the rest into Inspiration, Domination, and Illusion.

Illusion gets Arcane Conundrum, Imagined Burden, and Arcane Echo.
Inspiration gets Energy Drain and Power Drain.
Domination gets Chaos Storm, Power Leak, and Backfire/Diversion (Your Choice).

That should work great!
1. Cast Arcane Conundrum
2. Power Leak/Drain
3. Imagined Burden (They WILL run if successful)
4. Chaos Storm
5. Arcane Echo
6. Energy Drain
7. Power Leak/Drain (Preference/Recharge issues)
8. Energy Drain again (They should be dry and you should be full)

Toss Backfire in at the beginning if you use it, and Diversion if you see them use a spam spell or something (interject in steps 1-8). I use Diversion for this setup (In Betas) it is awesome. Especially if you can get a teammate to use a snare so you drop the Imagined Burden for something else like Inspired Hex or Inspired Enchantment.

Target spells like Phoenix, Firestorm, the Meteor Spells, Mark of Rodgort/Rgort's Invocation because they already have high cast time, increased by AC and you will always get in the interrupt b/c of FC.

Forget the eles, use this to dominate monks (watch out for Spell Breaker) and your team will love you.

Just Diversion/Backfire before they start spamming. Diversion OWNS Orison and Word, as does Backfire, but in a different way.
