Ranger/Necro or Ranger/Mesmer?

hiya guys i suggest need a quick suggestion.
my plan is to combine the poison arrow with another spell causing health degenration at rapid speeds. its likely that both classes have similar amount of hexes considering DOTs yet i cant seem to decide between the two.
could anyone suggest which one is good at what and what would have more advantage over the other?

why not N/Me you would get siphon life and conjure phanstasm . but between those 2 i would say Mesmer because they ahve a lot of other really cool ablities

Necros get AOE DOTs, so you might try that first. I'd be careful though... I tried a pure DOT guy once and learned the hard way that it is really easy to counter this particular strategy.

Monks can erase all of the hexes quickly and painlessly, mesmers can blow them up in your face, and enemy necros (like myself) can actually fling your own DOTs back at you! They also kill enemy warriors very slowly...

But hey, keep experimenting! If you're really not sure I'd go with the mesmer because you can pair mesmer moves with pretty much any class and get great results; so, if you decide that mass DOT isn't for you, you're not screwed! ;)
