Use to be if you sent a PM you could tell if the receipient has read the PM or not. Why was this removed and can it be brought back? Is this a bandwidth issue?

You know what's a bandwidth issue? You and all your site feedback threads/posts! :p Just kidding. That was kind of a nice feature, but I heard we might be getting a new vbulletin soon (read: forums crashing unexpectedly, then new look.)

When you make a new PM, there is a system of check boxes underneath the text window. I believe you can check the option that says "Request Read Receipt" or something like that.

a read recipt simply allows you to read your own PM I believe. Kinda like sending an email to yourself...

What Slade said... I think the new version of vB set it to Off by default now rather than On.

So what you are saying is that I have to set it manualy everytime I send a PM? That seems silly. Because there is no way I can set it for any existing PMs I have already sent.

Don't the receivers of a PM also have the option to NOT send the read receipt?

Read Receipt = notifies you if a user has read your PM (provided they let you know).
