View Full Version : From Theater to Fiction, Please Change It Back!!

This is a very big request, but please, hear me out!
Before the big skin change, Lyssa's Fiction was Lyssa's Theater, and was specifically for Roleplay. Now you guy's have added all this other stuff to it like poetry, and writings in general.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't like it! All this other stuff (in my general opinion) should go into Nolani Academy for the Arts and make Lyssa's Fiction, Lyssa's Theater again! Give me Theater or ban me for a week!
Thanks for your time :D
note: sorry about the double thread, you can delete the other ^^;

Storm Crow, Lyssa's Theater never had that much traffic. Putting it to writings in general actually increases the viewership of that forum and allows for more people to participate in role-playing. As role-players, I thought most would appreciate the change as, being very 'writing' minded people, it would give even more of a creative outlet.
I see writing and art as 2 very different mediums. I realize that's a personal opinion, but I've noticed the amount viewing and posting in that forum has gone up without affecting the content. It's still very much about writing and role-playing.

-It should go in the Nolani Academy of Arts, huh? It's for art. Like Wallpaper and videos. People go their for Zack's Latest Music Video. Sure it can be a place for writings too but...
-Just a role playing forum with only 2 threads? Sounds like a waste of a forum to me. Writing about fictional Characters is a lot like roleplaying. And Roleplaying is a lot like contributing your part to a really huge book/writing work.
FIGHT ME!!! :D
Give me Theater or ban me for a week!

While I thank you for your insight on this Inde, I'll state that writing is art, although it's the way you go about it that changes it's definition.
You see, it's just the fact that roleplay is different entirely than writing in itself, and while I enjoy writing just as much as roleplay, they are still different subjects.
But, if you must leave Fiction as it is, then I will simply say this: at least separate them into sub-forums of roleplay, and writing in general, so we can still enjoy the same content, without mixing 'beliefs'.

I'm going to have to agree with Inde on this as the old RP only forum was pretty desolate for a long time. I don't know what purpose having a subforum for it would be, though. Check the forum even now. It's barely active.
Without getting into the semantics of each style, I can just say this. If you don't like fics or writings, don't open threads that say fiction or writing. If you want RPs.... open the ones that say "RP."
There's no need to police (http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?p=752487#post752487)threads that you know very well aren't RP threads. Just let them be, and they'll let you be, and we'll all be happy with one less dead forum.

heh :o
sorry about that
but I will state what I did before, writing and roleplay are different subjects, and im my opinion, shouldn't be mixed
and if you want policing threads, you should check out King Symeon's posts in the main roleplay
if I might:
? What's going on here ? ? any RPing at all? Please guys join my thread. You're not really doing anything on this thread other than talking to each other, as I know you have been doing this for a very long time.
he was complaining about how we were 'chatting' instead of the thread being all roleplay, all the time
I had told him to please stop posting in the thread previous to this post, but he refused. after this post I told him
stop discriminating us for not posting storyline and get back to your own lousy thread. we can do as we jolly well please, and you do not have a say in it. we dont thank you for your time wasted trying to change our minds. good bye.
note: if I see another one of your posts in my thread for egging us on to join your thread or to get us to post more roleplay, things will stop alltogether and I will report you.
on the note, I was serious, and just about at the end of my line

He was just simply asking you guys to join the more active roleplaying thread, since the 'main' one petered out into spam.
But I agree. He was trespassing into 'your' territory . A territory with two to three full pages of spam with no roleplaying at all. And I know spam. It's my best friend.
You just seem very irritable. :)
Roleplaying has got more attention by the way.

it's not that I minded he was making another thread, it's that he was yelling at us for not roleplaying on OUR thread.
and we could roleplay more, but I was waiting for a roleplay off ownage before I went and posted more. that's only because he needs to be more active than what he is. *grumbles*
I have an idea or two, but with school and everything, it gets hard to post as often as he wanted us to.
and, I shall stick to my excuse for not writing that is in my thread, thank you.
but back on topic, Inde and Lasareth fail to see the point, and maybe I'll have to make it clear for everyone who shall set eyes on this thread:
Roleplay and writing are two DIFFERENT subjects and putting them together is like putting a tiger in a lion's den, things WILL get ugly.

Okay, we all have our opinions. Storm Crow, the role-playing forum was not getting traffic. Putting writing in there is just not that far of a stretch, I'm sorry. I truly doubt things will get "ugly" considering the amount of activity that the role-playing forum had previously. I have been on many forums where these 2 subjects are combined and it's never been an issue. If I see a few users causing a problem, just as on any other forum here, I will deal with it. I truly doubt this is as big of an issue though as it's being made out to be.
Since this has been answered, I am closing the topic. If anyone has any further concerns then please PM or email me at webmaster@guildwarsguru.com.
