After having a week long discussion with Sausaletus Rex, I've decided to make an Explorable Area guide. This guide will cover all sorts of things, but I can't do it all myself, so I'd love it if you guys could help. I'll be starting with Preseared Ascalon. Here are the areas I'll try and cover there:

Lakeside Country
Regent Valley
Green Hills Country

And here are the areas I'd love you guys to cover:

Catacombs
Wizard's Folly
Northlands

After I complete these areas, I'll move onto other places until all of Tyria is complete. Now these are things I need and will have:

All Mobs, Their Levels, and Frequent Drops
NPCs and Quests
Prime Hunting Areas
Basic Tips
Pets
Zone Locations

Thanks for helping on this and I hope it turns out great, now I'm logging on to work on it!

I've decided to give you a teaser of what I'm trying to acomplish. This shows Lakeside Country, but remember some of the information here is incorrect or I may be missing something. But this will all be fixed. :)

--------------------------------

LAKESIDE COUNTRY

Lakeside country is the starting location of new players for Guild Wars. It’s filled with beautiful countryside and natural animals, except for the occasional Grawl. There are many NPC’s here and all have plentiful quests, like Devona who we all know from the Lore and the Guild Wars Cinematic Introduction.

PRIME HUNTING AREAS

Lakeside Country is not known for its good hunting creatures; instead most of the EXP gained here is from quests and such. For good actual fighting, I suggest Regent Valley. But I will still name the best hunting areas in Lakeside. For early beginners I suggest fighting the Wolves which can be found near Ashford Abbey.

Pitney has another quest where you search in the catacombs for the Moa Bird. I never could find that damn bird.

I like the idea.

It would be very helpfull, for alot of people, including myself, if you could include the snowy mountain explorable areas, as I often have trouble finding the next mission point.

Regards, Ashleigh.

Lakeside Country is not known for its good hunting creatures; instead most of the EXP gained here is from quests and such.

I believe this is true at any stage of the game. The monsters might be a bit tougher, but you don't generally get enough to level up off of.

I really love the idea of an online guide, I hope some orginization happens so this can be an asset to everyone.

Hey, what about what armour the collectors will give you.

Hey, what about what armour the collectors will give you.

I'll add it. ;)

I believe this is true at any stage of the game. The monsters might be a bit tougher, but you don't generally get enough to level up off of.

Sorry I put it that way, what I meant was it's even harder since there are no monsters higher then you except for a limited few. Quests are the only actual EXP there. I'll edit the guide to suggest quests, maybe you'd prefer that.

Pitney has another quest where you search in the catacombs for the Moa Bird. I never could find that damn bird.

Do you know the name and the reward of the quest? Thanks. :)

I've been taking a break from this to play Guild Wars a bit, when the dust settles I'll begin work again. But I'm fixing up Lakeside Country this minutes. Thanks for all of your patience. :)

It would be awesome to combine this with the interactive map too.

That would be nice but they're seperate things and I dont think it would ever happen. But now, I've put the finishing touches on Lakeside Country and it's done! :)

If you guys could be so nice as to explore the areas I listed at the top of the page, I'd be very grateful. I'll be having a lot of trouble getting all of this information myself later.

Nice work, Ginko. For your monster drops, what I'd include would be those collectable items. Monsters can drop other things but I haven't seen too much of a pattern to things yet, but what's really important especially with collectors around is what you can get *just* from those creatures.

So, Worms dropped Baked Husks. Devourers, in Pre-Searing anyway, drop Fetid Carapaces, Bandits drop Worn Belts, Grawl drop Grawl Necklaces, Aloe Seeds drop Unnatural Seeds, and so on. You might also include the various salvage items these things drop too like Grawl Longspear Gear or Shaman Gear, as well as what it commonly salvages into. Basically, let people know what it is they can farm from the monsters in the region.

Some of those quests give item rewards now, if I'm not mistaken, but the items are mostly forgettable and I'm not certain if they're constant regardless of your character's profession just yet.

You could put in the named mobs that are in an area also. I will try to take notes as I explore. I know I found a named treant looking thing in Lakeside--right past where the Aloe husk things are. I forgot his name but he was a level 5 mob. Looked like a treant from DAOC and I think had a glow about him. He dropped a staff with some mod on it--nothing great but I never saw himmentioned before.

Yes, I was aware of that but I was to lazy to find the name. It's been discovered, fixed, and added to the final product. ;)

The final version of Lakeside Country is almost complete and it's hopefully better then what the Teaser shows. :)

Also, you have listed the collectors, it would be good to add what they collect and what the "prize" is for trading them. For many of them it was the same, but for example the collector closest to Devona had Leather Gloves (or boots) when some of the other ones did not.

You might also put a note (since it's almost a beginner guide) that going through the trouble of trying to collect these items is not worth the time investment (except the belt pouch). It bumps your armor by 2 and then as soon as you get past the area, new equipment is available.

All of things will and have been implemented in the final version. Trust me; it'll be very nice. ;)

=================================================

Until then there's no need to suggest anything, accept for other areas. It's all been covered by Sausaletus Rex and I, I have all the drops, quests and such.

But I do need help with the Northlands...that place will be a bit tought to find the information I need. :(

I have everything done for Lakeside so there's no reason to correct my teaser. What I need now is a major data-listings of the other areas accept for Regent Valley.

Oh, it might be worth mentioning in the guide that you can complete all the "egg" quests at one time. The guard wants the eggs and so does the farmer and so does the guy with the bull that you probably killed.
