Please do something to prevent endless debates

Maybe its the boredom virus getting allong, but I see more and more discussions come to a dead end by endless debates between 2 or 3 people. As a result new input by others is being ignored and snowed under by the countless answers of those who try to be put in their right in the debate. As a result people with a valuable contribution to a discussion are disencouraged to publish their opinion, while others miss usefull information when they notice all those duologues and leave without reading further.

I dont want these threads to be closed. Its often about interesting subjects. What I like to see is that confirmed debaters are stopped. Its up to the moderators to think of a way how to do this.

Yes it's a problem we've been seeing a lot lately as well. While I don't want to discourage people from posting their thoughts and comments if they are done in a constructive way, some seem to be taking this too far and engage in back-and-forth arguements just for the sake of arguing. I'm not sure exactly how to handle this right now, besides a PM asking that they take the discussion to a PM. As always, if you see any thread that you feel needs to be reported to the moderators, don't hesitate to hit the 'Report Post' button under your user profile so that we can look at the situation right away.
