With the spirit up and the preparation, I use Dual Shot on a monk (+15% dmg while health is above 50%, Lightning Damage from shocking Bow String, 20% chance of Marksmanship +1...fun).

Monk loses 105+ hp, tries to cast Healing Breeze, gets hit with Concussion Shot.

Well being mostly a trapper now I'm all about serpent's quickness, dryder's defense and dust trap, even though the blindness got nerfed. Dryders is one of the best avoidance stances in the game. Huge elemental bonus and 75% chance to evade, plus it's WS dependant so it works great for a trapper that doesn't want to spend points in other attributes in order to pull.

Unfortunately that "promising combination" is a pipe dream. Reread Barrage's description. :eek:

Broadhead arrow,{E} target is dazed(target is easilly interruptable <warriors too =D> and spells take 3x longer to cast) For 20 secs(condition)
apply poison target is poisoned for 17 secs -4 heath degen(condition)
Epidemic(mesmer skill) spread all conditions and thier remaining durations to all foes adjacent to target(in this case dazed and poision)

Ignite Arrows foes and adjacent are hit with fire damage
Dual shot fire two arrows that dow 25% less damage(150% damage inflicted)

I tend to use my Ranger far more in PvE because I find that is truly an enjoyable place to have a lone ranger doing his thing. Many times, simply just clearing entire zones, not farming something particular, but simply... hunting. En tous cas...

1 - Charm Animal - Nothing says Druid like having a Pet.
2 - Poison Arrow - Seriously, it's the coolest bow attack.

Favourite 3 ranger skills? thats a bit hard to decide cos it depends what I'm doing:

Being a beast master - Charm Animal, Comfort Animal, Enraged Lunge (

Trapping - Spike Trap, Barbed Trap, Flame Trap

General PvE Burning Arrow, Apply Poison, Distracting Shot

And lets not forget the non ranger skill everyone should know "When the shit hits the fan RUN AWAY", my all time favourite skill with any class. :)

Are you sure you play ranger? This skill has been and still is popular in Ta, Ra, and top level GvG (as for Ha - maybe but i haven't ha'd for soooo long i dunno).

In mob situations, I like Barrage, and conflagration, with distractin shot to round out. In general though, I'm partial to Poison Arrow, conflagration and choking gas. I love running 3 rangers (me and 2 heros), me with the Poison Arrow, conflagation and distracting shot, Jin with Broadhead, savage, and distracting shot, and Magrid with Burning Arrow, distracting shot and screaming shot, and all with Black Moas!!!

Ok, it's been a while since I've posted my favorite skills here (1 year, 2 months and 2 days to be exact), so I figure I can post again with some updated preference. It should be noted that this is a list of favorite skills and not necessarily what I think are the 'best' ranger skills.

Apply Poison - I love the passive effect of this skill. It's not uber damage, but you can simply apply pressure without having to focus on producing big yellow numbers from every arrow you shoot.
Concussion Shot - Not the most efficient interupt for all situations, but very fulfilling when you pull it off.
Natural Stride - I love having a running skill on my bar, and while this one has a short duration, it's short recharge allows me to adapt to a quickly changing situation often, whether it be to chase down an enemy, flee a bad situation, or simply get to where I need to be quickly.

I love traps and beastmastery, but I never feel never feel as flexible and adaptive as when I am running a bow build.
