View Full Version : Adding survivability to turrets in RA

I've been using a standard BA turret build.
[build=OgESc5MP62Djq5xwXLOwGBA]
And I wield a vampiric weapon. Problem is that more often than not there is no healer on the team. The only form of self-defense in the build is LR, but once it runs out, I'm wide open for 19 seconds. What could I do to the build to add more durability?

Kite.
BA turret is way OP as it is. Last thing it needs is a buff.
Not having a monk is a problem with every RA. You just roll with it and cross your fingers.

Swap out Flail for mending touch. Use LR for the IAS if you really want it, but you should be just fine without it.

[[Antidote Signet] and [[Bonetti's Defense] are some skills I can think of.

Since you're using savage as part of the damage output and it will still act as your interupt, consider dropping distracting then for your utility "save me" skill. Same with the suggestion above about dropping flail since you have LR (the interupts and stances are the repeat skills you'd want to bump). Otherwise don't worry about it since it's RA.

NOOOOOOOO
Never drop Dshot. I'd rather drop any other skill (cept maybe the elite) rather than drop Dshot.
At OP: Really, rangers have great survivability on its own and its high elemental armor, ranged, high attack, and interrupt make it ridiculous as it is. Add in LR, and you shouldn't have too much of a problem.
Not to be mean, but consider changing your playing style. You can't be the best at everything. There is always a counter in GW and you have to accept those limitations. You'll get better with time when you finally understand those limitations. Try to sidestep it and put in skills that you really don't need, and the only thing that will happen is that you only cripple yourself in the understanding of the class.
Hope this helps.

folks are too hung up on the skill. It is a great skill and well balanced for what it is/does but in the particular build, it is one of the skills that could be considered for change based on the OP requirement.
Burning/ Hunters/ Savage are the point of the turret while under RtW and Flail. You could get away with LR for Flail and same could be said for Dshot in relation to Savage.
Just to be very very clear - Dshot = excellent.
but in this particular build; based on it's actual intent and the OP's request to add in "survivability", Dshot would be one of the skills to consider for change (along w/ Fail). It's a suggestion the OP can consider for mod.
Just because it's Dshot, don't sacrifice the point of the build to keep it on the bar. Look at the purpose of the build first (i'd refer this over to the Dshot thread in relation to PvE but I'm sure that'll start another huge discussion)

Use DShot well, don't use Flail with a melee in your face.
