So this is a turret ranger build I run:
Savage shot
Dist shot
Burning Arrow
Hunters shot
Flail
Read the Wind
Fav. Winds
Res
It's go no self heal, so don't expect to win a lot in RA without a monk. You can switch one skill out for another stance and it'll probably work the same way.
This build does a lot more damage then you'd think. On a team without a monk, if you land a bleeding hunters shot and a burning arrow - with fav winds and rtw up - you knock out about half of a squishies health once the degen stops.
What really caught my attention was when I ended up in an RA group of 3 rangers and a monk. Two of the rangers were running Burning arrow (essentially what I put up there), and the other was running punishing shot instead of burning arrow.
We flawlessed 10 teams in RA easily. Monkless teams lasted all of 30 seconds, and we took down a two monk team in about 5 minutes.
We even won against a pretty good balanced guild group in TA. Part of what makes this build work is once you get someone down, you have about 6-8 interrupts on the team, and for the most part they cant res.
We ended up losing to a Ride the lightning spike group in TA, but it got me thinking: an RA pug did that well, and I can't vouch for the skill of the other rangers or the monk. How well would a coordinated TA team of 3 rangers and a monk do? You can split up the spirits, maybe even bring winnowing, natures renewal if you want to make interrupts easier. And because the damage is (surprisingly) so high, it only takes one ranger to kill or at least pressure a caster - meaning you can easily overwhelm a monk if you spread the damage. Plus, you can come together and spike a target that wont go down.
Just seemed like a good idea, thought I'd share.
