So this is a turret ranger build I run:

Savage shot
Dist shot
Burning Arrow
Hunters shot
Flail
Read the Wind
Fav. Winds
Res

It's go no self heal, so don't expect to win a lot in RA without a monk. You can switch one skill out for another stance and it'll probably work the same way.

This build does a lot more damage then you'd think. On a team without a monk, if you land a bleeding hunters shot and a burning arrow - with fav winds and rtw up - you knock out about half of a squishies health once the degen stops.

What really caught my attention was when I ended up in an RA group of 3 rangers and a monk. Two of the rangers were running Burning arrow (essentially what I put up there), and the other was running punishing shot instead of burning arrow.

We flawlessed 10 teams in RA easily. Monkless teams lasted all of 30 seconds, and we took down a two monk team in about 5 minutes.

We even won against a pretty good balanced guild group in TA. Part of what makes this build work is once you get someone down, you have about 6-8 interrupts on the team, and for the most part they cant res.

We ended up losing to a Ride the lightning spike group in TA, but it got me thinking: an RA pug did that well, and I can't vouch for the skill of the other rangers or the monk. How well would a coordinated TA team of 3 rangers and a monk do? You can split up the spirits, maybe even bring winnowing, natures renewal if you want to make interrupts easier. And because the damage is (surprisingly) so high, it only takes one ranger to kill or at least pressure a caster - meaning you can easily overwhelm a monk if you spread the damage. Plus, you can come together and spike a target that wont go down.

Just seemed like a good idea, thought I'd share.

http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:R/W_BA_Turret

so u can copy past a build from pvxwiki ?
don't really see the point of this post =P

but i do support the statement that a coordinated team of 3 rangers and 1 monk would seriously own TA

I have had a lot of fun and success running a turret Ranger myself, however, with the number of physical attackers (especially pesky PS Sins) I have found that bringing [[Lightning Reflexes] really helps. It can also make a big difference when smart Monks will simple run out of your range, having a cancel stance (although not the ideal choice of course) helps you finish them off. Also, when running a high ping, I usually use [[Antidote Signet] instead of [[Distracting Shot].

3 turret Rangers and a Monk would definitely do well in RA... [[Guardian] and other prots cannot be effectively spread across a whole party without spending a horrifying amount of energy. The 5-second recharging chain is too much for one healer to deal with... It can however, be easily defeated by Blind spam (ie [[Blinding Surge]) or other anti-physical hexes such as [[Blurred Vision] or even [[Spirit Shackles] due to the high energy cost of the chain even with Expertise.

i don't get it, does OP think this build is original or even mildly obscure? this build is the most common ranger build by far atm (and for good reason), except for OP's bad variant of favorable winds over lightning reflexes.

[Lightning Reflexes] over [Flail], so you can still kite and it's a blocking stance.

O lols, I did not know this was a wiki build :D

I've seen some rangers run it, but I guess what made me think it was at least slightly unknown a few hours after a couple 10+ RA wins with it, literally every team had a ranger running that build.

Guess I need to go back and come up with something original :)
