View Full Version : Conjure + Barrage with heroes using splinter or Splinter Barrage?

Currently, two of my heroes are equipped with [splinter weapon]. My ranger also has splinter so I can boost my damage with barrage. The problem with my heroes is that they only cast it on me half the time so that's the reason why I took splinter on me as well. The other problem is that while I'm casting splinter on myself, my heroes casts it on me as well sometimes so I started thinking of taking conjure on my barrage instead. Do you think this is more effective?

Yes [mark of pain] is amazing, it almost makes me want to run necro full time. I just realised I can ping my key so I can force my heroes to cast it on me all the time but that means they wouldn't be casting their other spells much. I have splinter on my curse necro hero and n/rt healer.

Hero AI will target party members with Martial weapons on them. They cast splinter on heroes with caster swords/spears. Rather annoying.

If you'd rather save your energy, leave it to the heroes and bring conjure.

Heroes tend to cast splinter weapon on healer henchmen first... yea it's rather annoying.

I usually micro splinter onto myself at the start of every fight so I can land a nice IA or Volley into a mob for 200-300ish damage. 1 copy on a Rit with 14 channeling is usually enough.

Good luck on pulling a conjure+mark of pain...

Remember that you can disable a hero's use of a skill by shift-clicking it. This allows you to manually cast it as you please, without the hero wasting energy spamming it where not needed.

You can also pump your damage from [[Barrage] a lot more by bringing the following skills:
[Order of Pain][By Ural's Hammer][Ebon Battle Standard of Honor][I Am the Strongest]
Or if you have another human player with you -> [Great Dwarf Weapon]

Since you have all those damage boosts, I also suggest bringing [[Triple Shot] if you still have a PvE skill slot left. This does wonders against bosses with all of those buffs on you.

Does not work. Read MoP's description closely.

I once went through FoW, with a ranger who was running volley and i can assure you mark of pain triggered.

I don't see any reason why [barrage] or [volley] wouldn't trigger [mark of pain]. Each arrow does physical damage. The problem is ... once your mark dies, you have to wait for [mark of pain] to recharge, and that's 20 seconds. So I like [barbs]; it's much more easily spammable, especially for your necro heroes.

I prefer my heros use interrupts as they are good with them.

When you wield an elemental weapon (conjure) it doesn't work. MoP only works with physical damage.

MoP + pets is pretty fun ^^

Ah, OK, if you're conjuring also, then yes, it doesn't trigger [mark of pain]. But by itself, [barrage] certainly does.

[Great Dwarf Weapon] on your pet is fun too :p and i guess it would trigger[Mark of Pain]
