Need help with ranger!

Hello and sorry for my bad English, but that's why I live in Northern Europe.

My friend told me about GW and he made me buy prophecies. I bought it yesterday and I havn't started yet because of hurry. I have played the game when i was in my friends house. I loved to play with his ranger/paragorn. I'm just wondering, what to do instead of paragorn, cause I have just prophecies at the moment.

-> I like rangers with pet and with lots and lots of damage or combos made by shooting arrows ;).
If anyone have good advices or great character build-guides, please, post them here.

Actually, if you look right above your post, you will see two sticky threads titled the following:

That should have pretty much everything you need to get started with a Ranger, including a few decent beginner builds.

well for damage you could go for ele, and use an elemental bow string

Or you could go mesmer and use epidemic with Broad head arrow and volley for some l33t hax.

If you plan on getting Nightfall, go /monk, for mending touch (Nightfall skill) when you get it.

If you want to use a pet, run a bunny thumper build.

If you want lots of damage run a splinter barrage build. [Burning Arrow] is a good damage attack too.

Wee rangers are fun, also able to use every weapon effectively (not necessarily great) in some build.

[Broad Head Arrow] is good, but if you only have profecies then [Incendiary Arrows] is fun, as is [Practiced Stance]+[Choking Gas]

I would say to atleast get Nightfall and Factions before you can set up builds, because Proph has very little Ranger skill combinations.
