You have to be Ranger primary, 25 vs 10 energy cost and this does more dmg if you have an high enugh vanguard title.
And you could cobine it with General nukeing if you use the E/Me variation.

P.S. This is just for testing new stuff...

Also, what then if it's interrupted? I guess it'd depend on the rest of your bar and the team / heroes, etc.

Guess not. My 34 month old Ranger with 32 mil XP has been 2 man trapping UW wrong all this time? Thx...I now have to go back to the drawing board and reconfigure my bar so I can knock down Charr and not worry about traps being interrupted.

Your idea is, at best, good for area specific but not for everday trapping...but to each his own.

Traps are only ever effective in farming builds. I don't see how this can farm anything if you're not a ranger primary with other traps.
