I have always thought Rangers were kool, and I would love to get mine into gvg so I was wondering; What weapons do you bring into a match and what mods do they have? Also, do you have any tips when it comes to splitting?

Note: When I say ranger, I mean typical split Ranger (Crip Shot or BA)

Thanks

Recurve bows for fighting (poisonous or cripple mod), Vamp flatbows for npc'ing.

radiant armor, go for +2 (mask and rune) expertise, +1 marks, +1 wilderness, superior vigor, and reduce crippling rune.

and a +30 hp sword/axe/spear with a +30hp shield. other mods are optional.

I take full survivor (radient=waste imo) and a few long/recurve bows depending on the build, mostly ill just have my recurve out of a long of flat for the ganking. AS well as a horn for r-spike. i take a vamp, daze if im using it poison for apply, and crip for crip all +15^50 +30 with a +5 energy just in case no real need for extra energy ofc. For runes ill either run 1 major and minors for most, 2 majors for crip shot. ill also take a spear/shild if ganking though if i need quick hp boost ^^.

Survivor
Expertise Head Gear with Minor Expertise Rune
Minor Marks and Wilderness Runes
Superior Vigor
Restoration for the last spot

Crippling/Poisonous Recurve 15>50 or +5 Energy +30 health
Vampiric Flatbow 15>50 +30
Maybe Crippling/Poisonous Longbow
Maybe a +5 Energy +30 Spear
-5 Energy Spear +30/+30 -20% Cripple Shield
Then can also carry an assortment of various shields like +10 Against Fire, Lightning, Slashing, Piercing, Water, Blunt, although it's not really necessary unless some build comes into favor and you know what you are facing. That or know how to rapidly switch shields.

The perfect equipment for any cs/ba ranger. On another note, remember to have 14 expertise or the helmet expertise+minor expertise rune will be put to waste.

i fully agree, with the exception of the restoration rune. mending touch takes care off conditions, no need to waste a rune.

rangers do not need additional hp. even with radiant armor, they come out at 560-570hp with a bow, and 590-600hp in their shield set. they are already very durable, so additional hp often goes to waste.

additional energy is actually very helpful. while expertise will reduce energy usage, having that additional energy buffer allows rangers to push more aggressively, knowing that their energy won't bottom out at such a critical time.

I was gonna put Vitae on there, but I thought of Burning Isle while holding a flag. But you can always run Vitae as you most likely won't be playing that role. I run it myself :p.

I'd prefer extra health. Harder to spike and kill in those cases that removing a DW and Natural Stride not working goes wrong. Not like a Ranger is spamming anything when ganking either. I can always go to a +5 bow if I'm ever in such a need to plink one more shot if I'm just spamming.
