ATTENTION DEVS!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS NOT A SOLO BUILD AND I DO NOT BELIVE IT IS POSSIBLE TO MAKE IT AN EFFECTIVE SOLO BUILD!!!!!!! SO PUT THE NERF BAT AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!
*This build has been tested and works very well in the UW with a SS Necro*
Template Code - OgMV0wHePMnj44gciRXm/TkHEA
Attributes
Healing Prayers - 8
Protection prayers - 8
Wilderness Susvival - 12 + 3 + 1
Expertise - 7
Equipment - Any armor with all superior runes and the -50 Cesta from the cities of Ascalon quest.
The 3 core Skills needed to make this work are as follows.
Storm Chaser
Greater Conflagration
Protective Bond
At 16 WS Storm chaser lasts 21 seconds and gives you 5 energy per hit of elemental damage.
Protective bond takes 4 energy per hit at 8 protection Prayers.
Greater Conflagration turns all physical damage into fire damage.
You all can probably see how this works, but just for those that can't. Cast protective bond, set GC, and keep storm chaser up and you'll never take more than 2 damage. You have to make sure the other person is able to kill the mobs before GC runs out.
There you have it. An effective build for a 55 HP ranger.
I WIN GUILD WARS!!!!!! :D

Um...yeah, I guess that could work. Now explain to us why anyone would want to use it when monks are so much better for that task.
If you intend to duo farm the UW, why not just trap? It's less gimmicky and more reliable.
p.s. "Just for the hell of it" will win you points for ingenuity, but I don't see this build catching on :-\

I have trouble imagining you convincing the hardcore duo farmers at Temple of the Ages that your "55 Ranger" is going to work enough to justify their time and their money. In fact I can see it getting a couple laughs. I'll grant it's an interesting idea that probably works alright, but how easily do you find a Necro to run it with?

I've never done a monk 55 build, but I have researched them in the process of making this build. And I have to say I do not really see anything that makes your standard duo monk much better than this. Could you please back you argument up a wee little bit more? Actually most other 55 Monk builds only reduce your damage taken per hit to 5 while this one reduces it to 2. So this build actually has a bit more tanking potential. :)
As far as why anyone would want to use it goes. Trapping gets boring after the literal 500th time you've done it. So whats wrong with mixing it up a little?

I fail to see a how my build is any more or less "gimmicky" than trapping. If by "gimmicky" you mean a build based entirely around one single concept then I hate to tell you that trapping is a very "gimmicky" as well. And it is no more or less reliable than any other duo UW 55/SS farming team would be.

P.S. This build was made just for the hell of it while I was bored :)

Just pay the way in yourself. And its not as hard as you might think.

Trapping is not nearly as reliant on the secondary profession as your 55 setup is. The echoes aren't interrupted because trapping is done prior to aggro. Also, if the GC spirit dies, I imagine that you will soon follow.

Spell Breaker.
Thats true, I had not considered that skill. I was mainly referring to the fact that this build does tank better than most of the 55 builds I have seen.

Interrupts are not nearly as big as a problem as you might think because the spells you use are cast before you engage the enemy. Yes if GC dies you will die VERY quickly. However spirits have a very good range and duration so all you have to do is keep the mobs outside of agro range of the spirit. And All the SS has to do is be able to kill the mobs in under 153 seconds, which if you have a decent SS is very easy to do.

Wrong, the 55hp monk build tanks alot better, since you can carry a derv secondary and have extra regen for countering degen

Wrong too, 55's in UW go /Me for Mantra of Resolve to counter Savage SlashDistracting BlowMaelstrom in UW
And Spell Breaker is pretty much needed for a safe run, otherwise you get owned by Rend Enchantments

but then, I haven't done the duo run for more then a year

Ages ago, I went into UW as a 55Hp ranger. It was solely to cap a black widow spider pet. It was tough finding a group at the time, or people were asking for alot of monies for a spider capping service. So I kitted my ranger as a 55hp to tank and my regular UW necro partner came along to help me get my spider. :)

This build sounds intriguing...I was bored to death with my Ranger, so I leveled up a monk and been 55'ing with him for about a month...much more fun and profitable imo, as you can solo and not deal with pug's, etc.. With that said, though, it would be fun to try even though it req's one extra person...

Interesting ^_^ If you have a guildie or a friend who is willing to try this isn't a waste of time. :D Especially if you're like me and have no monks at level 20 >.>
How are you going to deal with the grasps, though? They have e-denial, iirc. Just avoid them? :/
