Touch Ranger variant for glacial stones (and other mesmers)

Hi everyone,

I haven't spotted this particular build anywhere yet so I thought I'd share it. This came up while I was trying to farm Glacial Stones so that I could make the GWEN Glacial Gauntlets. I'd been using the R/Me build based on Backfire and Melandru's Resilence but I found it too slow. I tried the basic R/N setup with Offering of blood and it wasnt working out.

Simple solution, combine both. In condition heavy areas Melandru's Resilience gives you great energy management which combined with the regen and life stealing from your touch skills makes you very hard to kills.

You end up with something like this

Vampiric touch
Touch of Agony (or Barbed Signet)
Melandru's Resilience
Optional (Run/Throw Dirt)
Optional (Run/Throw Dirt
Optional (Sometimes Distracting Shot)
Troll's Unguent

Blood magic, 11 (dropped it by one to very little detriment so I could boos WS)
Wilderness Survival, 6+1 (gives you near continuous Resilience)
Expertise, 12+1+3

This build allowed me to farm the Vaettir much much faster, ended up getting 100 glacial stones (and a good couple gold items) in just under 4.5 hourse of very leisurely farming. This is so easy you have to really try hard to screw it up. The run over from Longeye's is easy enough to do you might only need the running skills to make it go faster.

This build also works on many mesmer groups in Hard Mode. I've tested it so far and had success on the windriders (or is that stormriders) in the crystal desert, and also on the mergoyles and skales in north kryta. It works well enough that I was able to solo vanquish Scoundrel's Rise.

Like tyla salanari said, there are similar builds out already.

But gj on putting it together on your own, even your route (from Longeye's Ledge) is different from what is usually used, which is from Sifhalla.

I must also commend you on being able to use it on other places, as I've come to the same theory myself but haven't tried it out yet. I'm targeting Scoundrel's Rise myself but am concerned about the Mergoyles' Power Block.

May I ask, where in Breaker Hollow did you vanquish? As Breaker Hollow is an outpost. Did you mean Archipelagos or Mount Quinkai?

Thanks for the clarification. A standard toucher build has successfully vanquished Scoundrel's Rise too, saw it in another forum. I like Melandru's Resilience for my elite though, I'll see if I can vanquish that evil place too :)
