Okay, this seems to be the more appropriate place to post this thread.

I am working on sorting out my messed up Skills. Armour and Weapons are not a problem I feel:

Code: R/Mo 20
Armour: Radiant Elite Studded Leather (Black) { 1*Sup Vigor, 1*Maj Marks, 1*Maj Exp, 2*Vitae}

Weapon: Sundering Destroyer Longbow of Fortitude {15-28, Rq 9, 20/20, +30, 15^50}

My current build:

- Attribs:
Expertise 14 (12+2)
WS 9
Marks 11 (8+2+1)

- Skills:
1. Melandrus Arrows
2. Penetrating Attack
3. Distracting Shot
4. Throw Dirt
5. Whirling Defense
6. Barbed Trap
7. Troll Unguent
8. Dodge

I do not have many expertise unlocked so this is just a quick test to see if I am getting the right idea. I am going to unlock some very soon.

What is going on here then, is this acceptable and along the right lines? What would you guys suggest.

Well, I am going to go for a more Beast skill approach. Like I heard, you have to really, really love pets to have such a thing - and I do.

So, what I am wanting to do is to mix Marksmanship with Beast Mastery. There are some good threads on that here. So I am going to look into them.

Though, my general first impression is to have high attribs in

Expertise
Marksmanship
Beast Mastery

(This seems to be what people are doing with the Bow/Beast setup - though I am curious as to why there seems to be no way of healing in some people set up).

I would take out Barbed Trap and Dodge because neither of them seems necessary. It's usually wiser to go all traps or all bows, but not a little of both. Usually when I go traps I bring a staff for extra energy. Also, one stance is usually enough, and you've got Whirling Defense, so I would take out Dodge.

Throw Dirt, Whirling Defense, Troll Unguent, and Distracting Shot are PvE staples for me, so good job there. Personally, I don't like Penetrating Attack (or is it Penetrating Shot? I can't remember) because there are quite a few bow attacks that do a lot more damage than it even with its armor penetration.

As far as your attribute points go, you should be able to go a bit higher pretty easily and still have 485 hp or even more if you use those vitae thingies.

Expertise: 10 + 1 + 3 = 14
WS: 10 + 1 = 11
Marksmanship: 11 + 1 = 12

That's what I go with usually. Not a bad build really, but it could be better. Hope that helps.

EDIT: Just saw your post on the Beast Mastery stuff. As far as BM healing goes, there's Companionship and Heal As One which heal you and/or your pet. There's another BM skill in Factions that heals you every time your pet attacks, but I can't remember what it's called. To reduce damage on your pet there's Call of Protection and Otyugh's Cry, and to heal your pet there's Comfort Animal (plus the ones I mentioned above that heal you both).
