I vote for Healing Spring, most people still have no idea what this is doing, they think the monk is working magic until you let them in on the secret and they start standing closer to you.I use this in TOPK with great sucess so this one is at the top of my list.Archer's Signet would be a close second.

healing spring is quite useful imo:D clears off some pressure for monks when your not focused on(but archers signet isnt all that good when you've got expertise anyway)

Sloth Hunter's Shot....ouch...that's what you get for trying to run away!

Sloth Hunter's Shot is currently my favorite bow attack, punishes pretty much everyone who doesn't spam (and there is plenty of ways to kill a spammer out there). My vote for underrated skill would be Marksman's Wager. Perfect skill if you need to keep your energy up.

I must be the only ranger with Markmans wager still as my elite i think its brilliant because you can just use skill shots constantly :)

Quick Shot gets my vote I second that: Quickshot + RtW + Needling Shot + Flail + OoV = massive spike. Probably not the best ranger skill, but it's still more than decent. I think the problem of this skills comes from the description. People read it, think it's useless (who cares about an arrow moving x times faster - it doesn't even exist in GW anyway: anything is about reducing the size of the arc) and don't try it.

imo called shot>quick shot as called shot is unblockable,3 times faster and 3 seconds(mind you,quick shot is a champ spammer because of its 1 sec activation time...only dif with the two is QS isnt unblockable...)

Quick shot's value is not the speed of the arrow, but its very low recharge.
Healing Spring is a nice skill if you're not under attack - otherwise, it's relatively useless. I'd much rather have a healing spell (e.g. Mending Touch) that I can use when I need it than have a preventative healing skill that you use when you don't need it.

I agree on Marksman's Wager. It would be a much better elite than it is now if Rangers had something for it to power. Everytime I've tried it, it's kept my energy almost full regardless of what I'm doing... but there's just nothing viable to spend that much energy on. The fact that it eats the elite slot is what makes it truly useless though.

I think we're all quite aware Sloth Hunter's Shot pwns, its not underrated in the least :D

I'm voting for Needling Shot. Clearly if you intend to deal real damage, it is needed for a speed kill. Under 50% you do armor ignoring damage? Talk about true pressure!:cool:

We used to run healing spring on our MM back in the old days when Sorrow's Furnace was popular. Minions like it too.
I'm going to throw in Quickening Zephyr it's PVE/PVP potential is *currently* far underabused :)
Rangers have expertise for a reason

Rangers have expertise for a reason
Unfortunately no one else does. That's why I'm always troubled to find a place to use it. Friendly monks don't much appreciate QZ being around. Slightly less of an issue though for Elementalists due to their attunements and Necromancers because they have Soul Reaping.

And Mesmers with mantra of frost :) [cough* winter] and warriors can focus on adrenaline based builds. It actually used to be used in a holding build back in HA many *many* moons ago. Like natures renewal you just need to build around it for supreme abusiveness.

More often that not, the speed won't really matter (PvE that is). And your underestimating the fact that you're sending an arrow out every second, that's pretty insane DPS for a ranger if they're buffed up on things like conjure, orders, fw etc etc.

People only use it if they
1. Need self condition removal
2. Aren't Mo, P, or A secondary

Yeah, its better to bring a condition removal skill that affects any condition, not just Blind, Poison, or Disease.

Yea +21 damage is really awesome, you know. I mean, you just might be able to kill one of those level 2 Mantid Drones in one hit!

Quickshot is only underrated by people who dont know how to Ranger IMO.
Most underrated In PvP wise Id say is: magebane shot Its a great skill but people fail to rely on it simply because it requires a very good interrupter to make it more usefull then BA/apply spam, and very few people are good ranger's. Shit, from what Ive seen out of 100 Rangers you will only get 5 who can consistently shoot out 3/4 cast.
Playing counterstrike on the side of GW is ftw guys. Keep your reaction speed nice and inhuman.
Determined Shot
I found this to be usefull when my guild wanted me to run an oath shot build and I was left with a free slot because we couldnt figure out what else to add. I added determined FTLULZ and found that by exploiting terrain obstruction ( finally put that crappy bridge obstruction glitch programming to use ) I could basically keep oath shot recharged 100%.
Oath shot-> Recharge everything.
Determined shot-> recharge oath shot and self.
Oath shot-> Recharge
Repeat.

I'd have to go w/ healing spring for PvE. (back in the day when no one wanted rangers in any group, 8 rangers in UW, not a trap build... everyone had to bring troll and/or heal spring. Literally could tank anything down there while focus fire from 8 rangers in a ball getting healed for 40-120 points a second was murderous). And frankly it was a hell of a lot more fun than trapway :(.
PvP... debilitating used to get my vote, but it's been overnerfed (and it's generally pointless for PvE).

I used to run around w/ wager/heal party/heal other or breeze/rez. Heal party is definately energy intensive and worthwhile enough to bring. (replace survival spec w/ healing prayers, and a good rez like rez chant, or the touch range one). Really the only reason I don't bother is no one needs a half-monk anymore w/ all the heroes/henches available now. (need a monk bring a hero...)
