I have been trying to tweak my builds a little bit recently by implementing some GW:EN skills and revamping some of my staple builds. Two skill choices that I kind of want feedback on are: Poison tip signet vs. Apply poison and Punishing shot vs. Savage shot.

I just want to know what people generally find as pros and cons using apply poison and/or poison tip signet.

I've also noticed that Punishing shot is not all that different from savage shot as far as skill description goes, and I am wondering if it is worthy of creating a build around. General reasons why punishing shot is superior to savage shot would be helpful in me understanding its effectiveness.

Thanks for the help.

punishing is elite, savage is not. savage is better. punishing was viable back when it was proph only, but even then cripshot was a better choice.

you should pick another elite over punishing, for hard interrupts i actually believe magebane is fun, and for damage it's the burning arrow, crippling shot in pvp areas is good also.

apply is generally better, but poison tip can be useful in an area where there's not THAT many creatures that can be poisoned, or in AB when you can barbed arrows, etc.

generally, i'd say:

apply+elite x
barbed+poison arrow
barbed+elite x+poison tip signet

Punishing Shot would need improvements to rate its elite status; it grants little besides a bit of extra damage. It needs to do something the other interrupts can't do. I'd like to see it strike through blocking, like crippling shot, giving rangers an elite way to interrupt harder targets.

thatd be the proest ranger elite then unblockable interrupt every 5s and does extra dmg id love it kinda but BA and cripshot would still probably be preferred id think..
