Best Looking Bow(s) Now

I know it's very subjective, but I want to know what bows you think are the best looking in the game. Now that gwen is in full swing and most things have been found, I am thinking of upgrading my bows to match my new armor.
I need one long and one short or recurve for up close so if you could help me choose a skin, I'd appreciate. For reference I mostly use various flatbows, collector bows and an eternal. Now I'd like to use something nicer looking for long and a short vamp for up close.

So far, I still like the old Storm, Eternal bows and Zodiac Long bows. I am not sold on the destroyers, but I might grab one.

Any other suggestions and pics would be greatly appreciated.

I use a Norn Recurve and a Platinum Longbow... both favorite skins of mine. The Platinum bow has never enjoyed the popularity I personally think it deserves, but it has a beautifully simple form and large scale that I think is very appropriate for a longbow. I confess I'm very partial to items that are less popular--perhaps only because the most popular skins seem, in my opinion, the most garish and over-stylized.

I like the look of the new Norn bows, got myself a recurve.

But i think im falling in love with the Silverwing Recurve Bows, such as the Bow of the Hierophant and the Bow of the Kinslayer.

Im also fond of the simplicity of the Asuran Recurve Bow. Very elegant.

I personally love the Azure Recurve and Silverwing Recurve Bows. Also fond of the Drago's skin, just because of its size next to my not so big ranger.

Bramble Bow for me, I really like the look. Have a bramble flat bow and bramble short bow, both take dyes wonderfully and have a distinct look to them.

I also like my Azure recurve, the crystals sticking out are nice.

Oddly, I like the feathered lonbow/flatbow too. It's a very classic look, and it goes well with one of my favorite armours, ranger Ascalon armour. (Yeah, I like the pre-searing armour. One of my favorites.)

i respect your opinions gentlemen and ladies, but the urgoz longbow i've always found to be ugly. also, the bramble bow..too flat (one-dimensional). interesting to see that other ppl find them to be cool.

Bramble bows, Bladed Recurve, The Allmighty Halfmoon, I also like as a previous poster said the simple elegance of the Platinum Longbow...
All that aside 2 of these 3 bows are always on my weapon swaps:
my Icy Eternal, Zealous Zodiac and Vamp Bramble Recurve. I may be in the minority on this but I love shortbows, not all the time mind you but there are times when it's perfect. Those times are a real charge. Hence my 4th bow is either the Poisonous halfmoon or the Silencing Shadow Bow.


If they ever come out with a Zodiac Recurve I may even retire my Eternal Bow though, I love the skin that much.

Found a nice little half moon bow for my up close stuff. Also found a spiked recurve that matches the armor nicely... Was trying to get a Zodiac or a Storm but prices seemed really high this weekend. Still looking... Also found a r9 gold horned bow. Skin is identical to the dragon horn i have. Maybe they forgot the dragon part. And also found purple forked hornbow that looks kinda interesting and matches the armor i have.

It may be my expensive tastes, but my favorites are the Storm Bow, Urgoz's Longbow, and the Tormented Bow (Shortbow type).
I got my 15^50 storm bow completely by accident from a chest whilst trapping about 1.5 years ago. Didn't realize that it was worth a jot for about 2 months, I was such a noob back then :p

Of the less expensive skins, I like the Azure (not Asura), Jade, and Amber bows.

Well, my bows that look "leet" are all r9 golds with perfect stats. So you aren't giving up stats to get good skins... But if you don't care about looks, just get a clean bow from a collector and mod it up. Or even get a green with the stats you want, which can be cheaper than buying the mods.

Dropped in a chest in the same room as dead boss duncan yesterday.

Ill try to put up some screens using the bows I found... I still want poison zod or storm for pulling.

On a different note how much does the 10% sundering affect actual performance. I will be testing that vamp half moon in the dungeon later for the quicker shot. I was using the els recurve vamp and it worked really nicely. With a little bit of healing I can tank a small (3-6) mob of doggies there in door ways. 4 and or five splinter barrage shots with that bow and they start dropping if there are enough of them and they are surrounding me. My whole screen lights up like christmas. But I have to pick your places. I got to do it a lot this weekend since either the tanks weren't holding aggro or monks/nukers kept getting too close in a lot of runs.

i use vamp most of the time and switch to a zealous for energy. what i wanted to know is will i miss the 10% sundering going from a recurve to a short. short seems to shoot quicker but the recurve seemed to work better so far. i am sure there are threads on this.

Maybe i'll put up a pic of the bow. I might go platinum long bow. has nice look to it. Prices have come down a lot.

1. Silverwing recurve bow
2. Stormbow (req 8 perfect)
3. Eternal Bow (req 8 perfect)

I can't beleive nobody mentioned the celestial longbow until like the 3rd page of this string! Imo, it's one of the nicest...

My faves (of what I have) would be, in order:

Longbows: Zodiac, Celestial, Stormbow, Ivory
Recurve: Azure, Bladed
Flatbow and Hornbow: Although I like the Dragonskin Hornbow I never use it - I go with the greens as I only used them for specialized things --> Chkkr's Flatbow, Vah's Hornbow
Shortbow: Skull

I guess I'm keeping them all forever, cuz first thing I do when I get a bow I really like --> I customize it...+20% damage on top of perfect mods adds up to serious DPS

Celestials in general have a few people that really REALLY like them and most other folks don't, hence the delay in postage.
I haven't seen a norn bow in action, do the actually look and feel as small as they seem on the wiki? Because if the shot on wiki makes them appear smaller than they are, they'd be pretty nice looking.

Well, I think I'm a though one on bows' skin.

I fell in love with the ranger profession in May 2007. My first bow was an Elswyth' Recurve Bow, but I don't like zealous for bows. In June, Urgoz's Longbow's price dropped very low, so I bought one for 25k. I loved that skin at first sight, but I hate it now :D It's very ugly I think, not an elegant one. I used Forgotten Longbow for a while, but that's a little bit common, so I farmed a little bit and bought some good new bows, and I use them since then.
My collection:
req9 Vampiric Azure Shortbow of Fortitude (I use it rarely)
req9 Silencing Azure Recurve Bow of Fortitude (with Broad Head Arrow)
req9 Sundering Aureate Longbow of Fortitude (my fav, I dyed it black and I bought this one for only 5!!! k)
req9 Ebon Bladed Recurve Bow of Fortitude (with Ebon Dust Aura)
Rotwing Recurve Bow (I don't like the skin, but it was the cheapest method to have a good bow for Burning Arrow/Apply Poison build)
Ironwing Flatbow (I use it rarely, I don't like flatbows, but it has a nice skin)
Custo's Hornbow (but it has a bladed recurve bow skin ^^)

And now I'm going to buy a Tormented Longbow (I have 10 gemsets now) and a req9 Skull Longbow, but I don't now what mods I will put into them :/ Any ideas?

Fortunately, I don't like the Silverwing skin, so I don't have to buy it for my ranger girl :D

Only bow i really like is the drago flat. I'm the smallest possible ranger, and playing with such a huge bow is just lovely (especially if you also have a giant pet supporting you =) ).

I actually love the Charhunter's Bow I think its called. The one you get from the Ebon Vanguard weapons trader and it comes with an inherrant suffix mod of +20% damage against char.

While it may not be the most useful bow, I think it looks great ^^

I like Stormbow, have ghetto non-inscribable one i bought for cheap....put a zealous string on it. The other bows i carry are Zelnuhuns, Chiggens, and Bladed Recurve....other skins I like: Azure Recurve, Dead Bow and Charr Recurve are nice.

recurve: Asuran Bow. (simple, yet pretty in it's own dark way)
Flatbow: Drago's Flatbow (the first and last flatbow I'll ever use)
Longbow: Feathered/Stormbow (This one was a tough choice since there are so many great longbow skins. I've had both these bows for such a long time and there is so much history in each of them)
Shortbow: Half-Moon (again for simplicity)
Hornbow: Mursaat Hornbow (the skin is the only reason I'd ever touch a hornbow for a non R-spike usage)

decided to treat my ranger a little after gaining Protector of all campaigns :D
since the beginning of GW ive ALWAYS used an eternal bow as primary (poisonous eternal bow of fortitude), but ive finally decided to change my ways :D after looking through most of the game's different skins, i finally settled on whats probably the less rare, but imo most rangerish skin: Sturdy Recurve Bow ^^
Dunno what you think of it, but it goes really well with Norn armor/Crown/Glacial Gloves if all are dyed well.

I have a Sturdy Recurve that got accidently dyed before the dye update and its a nice blackish colour now .

I think its a very nice skin and I still use it occasionally depending on the armour that im wearing :)

Last nite I beat Turai's Story and picked up an Undead Shortbow. Definatly on my list of favorite skins for bow now, especially for shortbow. (not that the undead skins look very different from bow to bow, I meant in that most of the regular shortbow skins have left me wishing I had something else...have run around with Chiggens bow in my short range slot forever)

As has been stated, most of bow picking has to do with finding things that go with whatever you decide to dress your Ranger in. Overall, the selections available for bow in the game are rather abysmal when compared with say.. sword, but there are some that are certainly awesome. Personally my favorite bow skin has always been the Feathered Longbow, but I also consider the following to be some of the best skins in the game:

Silverwing
Mursaat
Ancient
Spiked
Bladed
Plagueborn
Ivory/Shadow (same skin, different color, lazy lazy lazy)

Here's my two cents:
Storm Bow will always be up there for me, dyed white of course.
Asuran Bow is nice, and it goes well with my Asuran Armor. Wish it wasn't blue though.
Ivory/Shadow bows I love but I don't like that they're hornbows (not a fan), so I only really like green versions like Elswyths.
Eternal is a good one, imo, but not the best.
Finally, I love Silverwing, but of course I can't afford one, and don't like to save up for something so big anyway.
