Just wondering what people will focus on in their Hall until GW2 comes out.

Are titles most important to you? Minipets? Armor and Weapons?

I personally will be focusing on pvp titles but wondered what everyone else's primary interests are...also feel free to add any other areas of focus

Nothing. I'm an apprentice of many arts, master of none.
12 miniatures, 10 elite armors, 20 titles... scrapping from here and there, I will probably fill some gaps.

One this is for sure. I'm going to have all heroes unlocked, XD.

I know that my miniatures section is going to be completely empty.. Thats a shame. Hero's will be full, and I have 2 elite armors to put in. Then the titles will be a bunch of half finished ones.

I was planning on filling the weapons section with greens, but apparently that not how it works.

The announcement of GuildWars 2 / Hall of Monuments changed my focus a bit. I'm now focussing on things that can be kept in the Hall of Monuments. I gave priority to the title hunting and I also started collecting some minipets. When GW:EN is out I'll see what else is keepable in the Hall of Monuments. I'll may get some armors (Not FoW) or weapons for instance.

This feature is what interests me the most about GWEN. I want to see how this is going to work :p According to all the video clips I've watched it seems that weapons from EoTN will be the weapons we put into the HOM. I'm also wondering if the mini-pets will actually be stored in the HOM and in so doing help clear up storage space else where. Will heros be displayed in the HOM as they are equiped as well or will we get a standard image of that hero ? I guess my focus will be determined on how this thing actualy works.

Titles and armour first of all, then I'll move onto minipets and weapons. Heroes of course will just fill up as I play through the game. My goal is to have absolutely everything possible in my hall by the time GW2 comes out (Except perhaps PvP titles. Depends on whether I start to PvP or not). Not sure how realistic this goal is, or if I'll be motivated to do it.

Can I have a shot in that time machine after you?

Last I checked, they haven't given us much solid information about GW2 yet. Most of it was just speculative or theories about how things will work. One things for sure though, there will still be the same kind of balance in PVP there was before.

When you actually play the game, and decide you don't like it, then fine, fair enough. But let me be the first to say, nobody cares.

Mainly titles, just have to get my Legendary Vanquisher title >__>, and Heroes. But also collecting a few rare weapons. Don't care about Mini-pets, I'll only keep the ones I'm going to get from events or Birthday presents.
Don't care about armour, got one 15K set, more than enough for me.8)

Where did you hear this? Last I head PvP is one of the things that will be relatively untouched. Everything will be automatically unlocked, it will take place at max level, everyone is on even ground even moreso than it is now. It will be all about the skills and the skill level of the players. Sounds to me like GW2 will have better PvP than GW1 does.

All this was in the May issue of PC Gamer. Sounds to me like you based your opinion on faulty info.

EDIT: changed the quote since last post was deleted - still relevant.

Here, look for yourself: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_2

There will be two types of PvP available in Guild Wars 2; World PvP and Structured PvP.

World PvP
World PvP will allow you to play characters of any level, using the skills that you have in your possession at that particular time. It is intended to be a more relaxed bridging point between PvE and structured PvP. It will be on a larger scale than the original Guild Wars PvP with large battles which could take place over a long period with people coming and going. Each battle will have a number of different objectives which can be met such as taking guard towers or defending choke points or joining a larger battle to take a castle. Battles will take place in the Mists. According to the Gamespy interview, there will be 4 factions players can belong to fighting against each other, as well as a 5th faction representing a common enemy. Whether players can switch allegiance is currently unknown, but likely.

Structured PvP
Structured PvP is similar to today's GvG. It will allow you to enter the game at maximum level with all skills, races, items and classes automatically unlocked.

Some titles but I don't have any maxed titles - I'm kind of with Pamelf on that. I have a lot of mastered mish's so I'll probably work on some Protector titles and maybe Max Explorer titles before GW2.

A lot of minis but only from specials and presents... I haven't heard anything definitive on how they will be included but I'm hoping that they will count whether I still have them or not.

Max heros and campaigns. I have 4 or 5 max lvl characters but I don't think anyone knows if that matters. But they all have the same surname so maybe that'll be worth something as far as heritage concerns.

I have a lot of green and event weapons but those probably won't count until EoTN.

I've never been an armor person [except wishing for decent Para armor LOL.] Since the HoM was announced though, I've looked at 15k armors and there will be several cool ones I'll get.

How does this inheritence thingy work? What if you only concerntrate on 1 primary character but have 4 playable chars in total?

Example
Your primary character has 20 titles, fow , full heros , full skill , weapons ,full set of minis pets etc.

But the other 3 characters are normal ascended characters with 1 title each .

When inhereting your pass achievements will they take the best character or will they average out your achievements amoungst the four characters you own?

Exactly, World PvP (Big AB's/PvP zones like WoW), and Structured PvP. The way they have written about Structured PvP is that it will be SIMILAR to GvG, but not GvG. All other PvP is gone. So we get 'World PvP' which will be full of noobs, basically like merging AB and RA, and 'Structured PvP' which doesn't sound at all like it will be like GvG. Just that it will have 8 per side, not some huge number.

I'm not really going out of my way to do anything. I think this is a great feature, but I doubt any of the rewards in GW2 will be anything that fantastic. I'd rather hear more about what's going to happen in GW2 before really trying to fill up my hall. I have a few sets of armour, some titles and quite a few mini-pets. But most of what I'm doing is for my characters in GW1 and not just for the Hall of Monuments.

I do plan on getting some new Ranger pets for a lot of my characters though, which may have something to do with it.. :)

source: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hall_of_Monuments
According to information pieced together from online sources, the Hall of Monuments will contain 5 monuments:

* The Monument of Fellowship contains big statues of your unlocked hero companions and pets.
* The Monument of Devotion shows little statues of your minipets and collectibles.
* The Monument of Honour shows your titles and accomplishments, including finishing a campaign.
* The Monument of Valour displays unlocked high-end weapons obtained from the Eye of the North expansion.
* The Monument of Resilience shows all your ascended armour sets.

Yes i believe alot of players wil be focused on the Hall but i also believe only players planning on getting GW2 will as other will rather not concern themselves well i have 2 minipets of low Value Necrid Horseman and Temple Guardian also 1 Set of 15k Primevel and 1.5k set of Kurzik armor though im not shure how many armours can be showed at the hall and how mane per profession. With knowladge of that i believe i will buy more Armors for my 1 out of 2 Chars Probabaly set from each Comp and GWEN as for titls yeah its a big deal though some hard to get and others involves alot of money which i dont have But than again 1nc i get all out of Gwen than maybe i wil focus on Titls hard to get Either way YES i am gonna focus most of my time of Hall of Monuments:D

Titles: -
All elite skill, cartography, protector, guardian, lucky, unlucky, sweet, drunk, chest titles maxed out.

Items: -
Owning every GWEN skin with R9 purely because they can be put in HOM apparently.

Armour: -
Making all my characters look nice for HOM. Will need to buy more slots so can have one of every profession.

Mini Pets: -
Owning them all bar the stupidly expensive ones (Panda, Kanaxi, Zhed, Vizu, Assassin, Island Guardian, Rollerbeetle)

Alot of work but I will definately do it all my the time GW2 is released and I will be able to unlock really cool stuff.

Would be nice if Anet say let us take our 5 favourite weapons from Proph, Factions and NF to be displayed in the HOM as some of my weapons have alot of sentimental value.

15 max titles
30 minipets (I dont like minipets but I hoarded them just for the HoM)
2 elite armors (got more but not complete sets because I mix&match)

Trying to put as many weapons and shields in there as possible, every time I come across a gold one I dont have yet I keep it for the HoM in case I can put them in there. Got all rare sword skins and most shields.

It was mentioned in one of the video clips something about special "red" weapons you get from certain quests/objectives in GW:EN... these red weapons will be what go in the HoM. It was also specifically stated that things you put in the HoM are still available for use... you basically record that you have them and still use them.

As for me... I have a bunch of low to mid level minis, all the heroes handful of titles (working on them...)... as for pets, I saw that only the 'special' ones will count, namely the Black Widow, Black Moa and Imperial Phoenix.

Im going hard on titles. Im at 10 max right now, hope to be at 20-25 after a few months of playing EOTN. Should have al my carto ones by EOTN release.

I will have all heroes. I will also being going hard after the EOTN weapons for my hall.

I also will be collecting minis (19 already) & 15k Armors (9 across 7 toons) - although I will mostly concentrate on my Monk here and try to get a set of all the high end armors. Got 4 already, need FOW I guess (even though I have resisted to this point). Hopefully by the time GW2 goes live ecto will be 1k each and I can get it then!!!

You went all the way through Nightfall without Olias? Wow, I didn’t think that was possible (j/k). In Consulate Docks, there’s a quest giver there. I can’t remember his name, but I’m sure Wiki has all the info for him. You have to go back to Prophecies to get Olias once you have the quest, but it's pretty easy.

ill be going for the simple stuff such as:-
The 3 titles for finishing the stories with masters, since its basically like saying you finished the game which i would want to show i did in GW2. Map explorer titles aswell not maxed though.

I already have a 75k set for my ranger but will be picking up another 3 sets of 75k for my dervish. Wont be getting anymore armor after that since im only really interested in the armor i would want to wear in GW2. I do know that it might not work like that but better to just get armor i like anyway then for the sake of the hall.

Few collectors edition mini pets and also somemore which i might buy and from characters.

Weapons Im going to try and get all of them since it seems they will be part of the dungeons which i will be doing anyway.

Ill have all the heros from playing anyway along with the pets from my ranger.

Basically im just going for stuff i would like to remember such as derv armors and titles that show i beat the game. Im not into grinding titles or titles that seem to have been added just to keep you playing the same stuff such as hard mode since GW for me is really about the story and once you been though it thats it apart from when you want to have a quick play helping mates.

My girlfriend meanwhile is going to have one set of ritualist armor and the heros. She isnt really bothered about the hall since in GW2 its really only going to be for show and not really effect the game in much way.
she has already got a good role playing reasion for it though even though it dosnt fit with GW i dont think. which is that one day her ritualist kidnapped a asura and made it her slave after many years the asura managed to get her staff and beat her to death before hanging her body in the hall and trashing her accomplishments. then off the asura goes for GW2. she does know about the time difference between GW1 and 2 but she says we dont know how long the asura can live for.

Since I haven't kept many or at all any character longer than 1 year, I have been buying up cheap minis. I don't need them all or alot, just a few so I have something.

I am saving my money on armors. One reason, I like some of the GWEN armors more then previous armors. Two, even if I go and keep buying various "high end" armors, I want to get ones I know I will like.

Titles, I have some I am dedicating myself to get, but I am not going crazy on them. I don't have that much time to spend on getting all titles, so I am focusing on a few and once I get those done...I will see if I want to add any more. I finally got KOBAD title. ^_^
Also, on the note of titles, is there any word if titles accepted are only maxed out titles? I hope not since some titles at this time don't have a max and some are out of reach for most casual players (like myself).
I am hoping that each title that can be added into the HoM will fall under one of these ideas: (just my ideas)
1. Has to have a certain rank (at the very most)
This one is more grind to get a title into the HoM and not very casual player friendly. However, this one lets only titles that have some "achievement" behind it get into the HoM. Instead of a bunch of R1 titles that everyone will most likely have, it rewards those who get into the higher ranks and further their titles by spending the time (or money for some titles) to get a higher rank. IE-Rank 6 Sunspear, Rank 3 cartographer (80% explored) will be entered into the HoM and updated if higher rank is achieved, but R1 Sunspear or R1 cartographer will not be entered.

2. Be a wearable title (a middle ground)
This one makes more sense since some titles can be earned but can not be worn since the rank is too low. If you can wear it as a title, it can go into the HoM. Best middle ground that can fit the vast majority of players out there.

Until I know how this will all work... I don't want to be plopping down gobs of gold for armor that I don't even really like the look of. All my toons have mismatched sets that I think look good. Why "waste" gold?

Titles... I just managed to finish off Legendary Cartog, so next up I guess is Skill Hunters (since I'm most of the way already), but again until I know how this all works out I'm not going to start forcefeeding (and buying) sweets down my ranger's throat!

Pets.. I think at some point I've charmed just about every pet in the game - will that count or do I need to go on a charming expedition? (and again, what will this really do?)

Generic pet statues? Upgraded armor only heroes? EotN ONLY Weapons? Ridiculous PvP reqs? Mesmer armor in a Warrior's Hom? Keep going. It's a big fook up.

I also wanna get a GMC, probably Tyria, on my warrior because I've always deterred myself from trying because they look so hard. ^^

I had been planning to go primarily for armour and, if they had worked differently to the way they actually do, minipets.

Knowing how the minipets ACTUALLY work, I'm going to be keeping them out until the last possible moment.

As for armour - it's going to take the display of the actual (class-specific) armour of the character rather than the silly placeholders we've got now to get me to go buying ascended armour specifically for the Hall, although I will be keeping it in mind when choosing additional armour pieces and thus will likely slowly build it up.

I have 3 Minipets, 2 elite armors and 3 heroes to put in the hall. My Legendary Sunspear and soon to be Legendary Lightbringer and Grandmaster Tyrian Cartographer apparently aren't good enough.

It wasn't grind to get there, you did the mission from one of the main towns, simple as pie, couple of cool cut scenes and a nice leisurely picturesque walk over a shiverpeak hill and theres a bloody great big Eye of the North and the hall of Monuments stood there and you walk in... if thats grind your playing the wrong game

I put all Nightfall heroes in there. I had a few armor upgrades stashed so upgrading the few I hardly ever use wasn't such a big deal. But, why oh why, if they need upgraded armor before I can put them on a pedestal, why doesn't it show that upgraded armor? The piece of mysterious armor I put on Zenmai feels like a bit of a waste, seeing her statue in her normal vanilla bodysuit armor. That bit makes no sense. Oh well. I also made the mistake of putting my animal compagion on there. Being a mere dire red crab, it got a dumb generic statue. I want that one gone but it seems it's there forever. Oh well.

As for titles, that bit is a disappointment. I'm hoping there's going to be a bit more attention to PvE titles. After all, the whole HoM strikes me as primarily a PvE thing in every other aspect. Oh well.

Weapons, armor and minipets: I didn't unlock those yet. I'll probably add some weapons and armor. Minipets, I couldn't care less about. I don't own any and the ones I get usually go to guildies for cheap. Maybe I'll put a single one in there someday to fill out the place.

Finally, I'm a bit disappointed by the HoM as a whole as far as what the preview showed. A lot of 'oh well'. :) Here's hoping they'll make some changes, but that's a different thread.

What counts as 'collectables'?

It wasn't grind to get there, you did the mission from one of the main towns, simple as pie, couple of cool cut scenes and a nice leisurely picturesque walk over a shiverpeak hill and theres a bloody great big Eye of the North and the hall of Monuments stood there and you walk in... if thats grind your playing the wrong game

and no, i doubt I'll focus on any of the hall of Monuments, they do seem a bit to grindy for me and i like my mini pets as they are at the moment, although I may put some of them in closer to GW2 release

Okay let me rephrase. If one does no PvE at all, and has deleted all one's PvE characters, along with 15k armours, pets etc, does that mean that someone who only has PvP characters now cannot access the HoM?

No idea, i can't see into the future and see what you can and can't do with the hall

HoM was the single biggest disappointment for me this weekend. I don't want to customize my mini-pets (I understand Anet's logic, but just don't like it); I like to mix and match my armor, which HoM doesn't like; you have to have near max PvP titles to get them in HoM; your heroes must have upgraded armor (I don't care what they look like so I never got them any); the only weapons you can put in are GW:EN weapons.

Did I miss anything?

I'm going to just focus on one character.

I just need 3 more *any* maxed title to get Kind of a big deal to finish out the pve titles.

I think I will do mapping, this will also help with money, which will go towards ascended armor cost.

I don't pvp so I'm going to pretty much ignore those in HoM.

Mini-pets, just add any I happen to get but not going out of my way, already have 8-10.

Probably just armor and maybe weapons; not really a huge titles person, and also not big on having to grind for upgraded hero armor when I really could care less about what my heroes are wearing. Also not really all that big on limiting my minipets to use with one character.

Not thrilled about having to have full sets of armor to put them in there, but I understand the reasoning; why give someone the reward of only doing half the job? But I actually like some of my mixed sets, and really don't want to spend a ton of extra gold if I can help it.

I kind of look at HoM as a perk, though, and not a necessity. I'm here to have fun playing the game, and if stuff I get while having fun fits into the HoM, awesome. If not, then I won't bother.

I'm only doing the one for heroes and pets and the one for armor. I only displayed one set of armor. What you see is pretty much generic.

Mostly I will just ignore it for now, I've pretty much lost interest in it until we find out exactly what it does for GW2. The rest of EoTN I very much enjoyed.

Untill it gets seriously reworked, I will completely ignore it and play the game as though it didn't exist.
So hard to stop myself from typing long paragraphs on how poorly implemented it is ~~

I'll just enjoy the rest of gw:en and go back to working on my pvp titles like I did before... at least they should matter.

Armor will be my main focus for the HoM. My main character is a Mesmer, and part of being a Mesmer is looking good while spreading the usual chaos, panic and disorder. I love to collect prestige armor and then mix and match them to create new styles (the only problem I have is deciding on which style to get next - should I get the elite sunspear gear now or wait to see the new armor arts in EN etc). So I can easily see the monument to resilience filling up very quickly :p

Doubt I'll do anything but armor. All the others are horrifically flawed in their implementation by Anet and thus suck. Perhaps when Anet fixes them to be worth using then I'll use the others.

i already maxed out my armor monument and my hero monument. while i have a collection of 40 minipets that i can put into the pet monument, i'm not going to put them in unless its made account based. in the mean time, i'll probably just get 10 sets of the 1st and 2nd year minis and put those in and keep the asian minis i have uncustomized.

The HoM as it stands is awful and im not paying any attention to it until it has had some serious work. Before hand i would have liked to show my pvp titles but rank 12 hero. What a joke!

No thanks

Even the armor is flawed. What you put up isn't what shows up. Not even the same class sometimes????

The only thing I have to put in is my titles and my heroes. So far I have 6 heroes with upgraded armor, and I will be IVI once I max my LB and Norn titles. I dont really care too much for rare skins, but If I get one I like I keep it :)

Being a Male elementalist, I dont care much for ascended armor.

Anyone know how we are going to upgrade our new heroes armor in GW:EN ? I saw in the HOM that you needed their armor upgraded in order to be put into the Fellowship section.

My main area of focus with HoM is to focus on remembering to avoid it at all costs.
