Hi all. Since some people think that Rangers cannot farm, and because they are my favorite class, and also because of some new NF skills that everyone is accustomed to by now, I wanted to make a guide of some of my favorite Ranger farming spots.
1. Farming Canthas Rarest
R/E
Sandstorm/Shockwave
Tenei's Crystals
Sliver Armor
Armor of Earth
Stoneflesh Aura
Stone Striker
Storm Chaser
Troll Unguent
The quest: The Halcyon Job, the commander by storage (Lexus I think)
The map:

Just run along the little red line until you hit the res shrine in the far corner, and cross the bridge.
4 Luxon Assasins will pop up. Cast stoneflesh, stone striker, storm chaser, and troll unguent to heal you after their touch skills hurt you. Cast sliver armor, followed by sandstorm, and tenei's crystals, the sliver targeted assasin will flee, but will come back soon enough. It usually takes two cycles of sliver to kill em all, along with two Tenei's, but you usually only need to cast sandstorm once. Circle around the village, taking out groups of 4 at a time, until you get to the front of the village.

To the right and left of you will pop up 3 assasins, lure em to the left, into a little ditch by the mountainside. Even 6 at a time is easy to take, as long as you keep troll, stoneflesh, and stone striker up when you can. Just cycle through your offensive line, and they should go down easily. When you get the the assasin boss, he attacks super fast, so sliver armor is great for him, lure him down by using a spell, NOT by aggroing. Aggroing him will cause a spawn of a mixed group, which will kill you. When he gets down to you, use Armor of Earth, because he deals damage even though stoneflesh and stone striker. Keep your defensive spells up, and troll, because he deals an 105 damage touch skill. Cycle through your offensive line, and he should die quickly.
Then, you have your loot.

2. Shing Jea Island Hard Mode
You can farm all over Shing Jea with the skillset above.
Minister Cho's Estate
http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/4482/gw023gv5.th.jpg (http://img139.imageshack.us/my.php?image=gw023gv5.jpg)
Just use the strategy from killing the Luxon Assasins, and make sure to run ahead of Togo and Yijo so they don't get ganked by a warrior or two.
The Naga Cave
You can clear the whole Naga Cave outside of Tsumei Village, great for Naga Longbows, Ritualist Tomes, Ritualist Staffs, Mammoth Axes, and Sunqua Blades.

The only real threat is the Warriors, they use armor ignoring sword attacks, so take them out first. You can also kill any Kappa you encounter everywhere on Shing Jea, but it will take time, because they use the annoying monster skill Turtle Shell (I think that is what it is called) which reduces the damage they take to 4s and 5s, but Tenei's still deals a good 60 damage to them.
3. Plains of Jarin HM
Same build, different elite. Sub in Shockwave for Sandstorm, and your good.
This build has alot of regen, which is great against the Iboga out in the Plains, so just keep up your defensive spells, and hit em with the offensive stuff. I have been able to kill the Paragon boss, and the Elementalist boss once, but if your looking for elite tomes, then I would suggest a different build (Obsidian Flesh, Sliver Armor, Obsidian Flame, Stoneflesh Aura, Armor of Earth, Stonestriker, Storm Chaser, Troll).
I hope this thread inspired some people to keep their Rangers, instead of deleting them for a farm favorable profession. All three of these spots have been discovered by other people, so I take absolutely no credit in the spots.
Enjoy.
4. R/Mes Solo Smites
The build:
15 wilderness survival
11 expertise
9 illusion magic
4 inspiration magic
Famine
Ancestor's Visage
Sympathetic Visage
Physical Resistance
Dodge
Zojun's Haste
Troll Unguent
Illusion of Weakness
Equipment: Your armor should be decked out with Stalwart Insignias, alternatively, you could have a Sword of Shelter, but you need an either +30 health/ -2 stanced shield or a +45 stanced/ -2 stanced shield and either a Sword of Enchanting or a Sword of Shelter (dependin g on your armor).
When you enter the UW, set your spirit in the right corner, about the Aatxe blocking ghost (idk his name) and cast illusion of weakness. Grab the quest, then prepare to pull the first group on the left. Cast Sympathetic Visage and grab the Graspings, leaving the Aatxes in the dust with Dodge. When the Aatxes leave, put up Physical, and wait until Sympathetic is almost out, then cast Ancestor's, and alternate between each two. The Graspings should kill themselves in no time, thanks to Famine. Do the same steps with each group of Graspings, but set the spirit as far away as you can on the opposite side from which you are pulling. When you are done with them, it's time for the run.
The Run:
Running to the Smites is pretty easy, judging that you know what your doing. If a Nightmare rends Illusion of Weakness, put it back up, it's like a Divine Intervention from Aatxe attacks, which commonly deal 250 damage. You do not want to aggro the Graspings on the way to the Smites, but if you do, make sure to keep a run skill up until you reach the top of the stairs, and beyond, because the Graspings will stop there.
The Smites:
This is the funnest part of the run, you get to let little monks slaughter themselves by using melee attacks because they think they are uber cool holy warriors. Lay down Famine away from the group that you want to kill, and then run in with Physical up. Cast your first Visage, then put Troll up, wait until the first visage is out, put another one up, and Troll again. This build can take on groups of 3-5 smites. In groups of 3 to 4, the Smites almost never cause Illusion of Weakness to go off, but groups of 5 often do, so don't worry if your running low on health fast if you have Illusion up, the Smites kill themselves fast. A total run takes about 20 mins, which is nice compared to trapping, and is alot more fun. I will post pics as soon as I get a Passage Scroll or America gets favor. This build is not mine either, it was created much earlier, so no credit should go to me on this one, need to find the name of the guy who made this though.
Oh, and a side note, most of the builds that I have shown required a 20% longer enchants weapon, so definitely think about getting a Totem Axe, Rajazan's Fervor, or even a a staff to farm with.
