Enchanted Derv Tank Dervish / Ranger

I normally use a Dervish/Monk heavy on enchantments build. The monk portion for small healing per hits, but maybe I will change to a ranger. I noticed the other day traveling the Magma Jungle a nice little ranger spirit called Symbiosis

Dervish / Ranger
12+1+3 Scythe Mastery
9 +1 Mysticism
9 Beast Mastery

1. Mystic Sweep
2. Heart of Fury
3. Heart of Holy Flame
4. Faithful Intervention
5. Zealous Renewal
6. Avatar of Melandru
7. Symbiosis
8. Resurrect Signet

With Symbiosis at a 9 attribute level 4 Enchantments will give you 404 extra health for 102 seconds. With the avatar being used you gain 200 more health and conditions do not affect you. This will last for 55 seconds. Disadvantage is enchantment removers. Yes the enemy will receive the perk of symbiosis if they have enchantments on them, but I do not think that they will have more then one at a time and in PVE they will not be as good managing them.

Any thoughts?

thats a lot of health... id ditch zealous and trade for mystic regeneration

but ur still at only 85AL with windwalkers insigs 90AL if u have a defensive mod... you wont take the heat the best... mystic regen will keep all that health lasting a lot longer though...

not sure... it doesn't seem like you have a lot of dmg going on.. but hey... hehe thats a lot of health

Could take out Resurrect and add Twin Moon Sweep and time it with Heart of Holy Flame. (AOE dmg when Heart of Holy Flame starts and AOE Burning when it is removed by Twin Moon Sweep Plus double strike for damage) You have to make sure is it is the last enchantment or you will remove the wrong one. Can’t tell you how many Healing breeze spells I have removed by mistake.

Zealous scythe and good timing / remember with Mysticism you get energy back when an enchantment ends

uhhh, your build has three diff. professions skills in it @.@ time for some edit and clean up,but in any case yah Symbiosis works wonders with a dervish..

By ressurect I think the OP means any rez skill, not sure.

he also says Dervish/Monk when he also has a ranger skill in there, no offense meant to the OP, it's just that some newb coming in here looking for a build might get confused, I have a hard time keeping my build posts clean too soo I feel your pain.

Well, i think for what this build is intended for, it would work. He didn't say its for dmg dealing, he said it was for tanking. So racking up a large pool of HP makes for some Tanking fun!

Variations of this build would be fun, maybe make a hybrid that CAN deal more dmg in PvE like as was suggested use Twin Moon to take off Heart of Holy Flame, or Holy Fury when you want energy and to burn them monstas!

This has me thinking about how high a Dervish can get his own life all on his own (no outside help)... HMmmmm. Melandrus, symbiosis and 6 enchants, plus all survivor insignias and vitae runes. Sounds like fun... lol

Symbiosis is fine in PvE, I've played with it as a monk primary before. You're right in thinking that most mobs will only have 1 enchant, if that... however, it might be smart to pack some heroes with enchants, and tell your group what your spirit does.
