View Full Version : The Guru - Concept Class, Art

Here's my own idea for a GW profession based on an Indian theme. I call it "the guru". I based this off south Indian martial arts called Kalari (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalaripayattu/).

It's more an offensive class with 3 offensive attributes one of them weapon mastery and 1 support attribute.

Weapon :
---------
Flexible blade called the urumi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urumi/) which can have 1 or more long flexible blades attatched to a single grip. It's an unique "ranged melee" weapon. Although used with a shield in practise, it was traditionally "worn" around the waist concealed and used in real life without a shield. With more than 1 blades, it can be deadly to the wielder as well. The most famous urumi fighter was a girl called unniarcha who still has numerous plays and songs on her life in South Indian folklore today.

Two-handed.
Range : Half the spell casting range
Attack speed : Sword

1 bladed : Regular damage.
2 bladed : Higher damage. 8% chance that one of the hits will deal damage to the wielder as well.
3 bladed : Highest damage. 15% chance that one of the hits will deal damage to the wielder as well.

Haven't decided on the exact amount of damage as of now :)

Health and energy
-----------------
Similar to assasin.

Armor
-----
Since >2 of the attributes are spell casting, 60 AL armor and also a 70 AL armor with less energy bonuses for weapon mastery.

Like you can see the emphasis would be more on agility and evasion rather than tanking like a knight should.

Attributes:

1. Discipline.
------------
Primary only. For every rank of discipline your maximum health increases by 2%. You absorb 1 damage at ranks 1-6. 2 damage at ranks 6-12, 3 damage at ranks 13-15 and 4 damage at rank 16.
Mostly skills that complement weapon mastery in some way and others are defensive stances.

2. Blade Mastery.

Weapon mastery class. Mostly energy based attack skills and a few adrenaline based skills.

3. Dark arts.
------------
Offensive spells and shouts.

4. Compassion.
--------------
Groups buffs, Self heals, Energy skills, Hex and condition removal.

A red and white color code is very common among Kalari fighters.

I have loads of skill suggestions for this class but have posted only those with skill icon artwork. I'll prolly add some more soon complete with icon art.

Sounds neet, but just one thing that bugs me. That armor is not armor. I mean, yes, its all about the speed, but damn it1 the point of armor is so when speed fails, you got a back up plan!

all I can write now is an advise:

get married as soon as u can!!!



we don't need naked characters in game because many players are under 18yo

try to do something better than bringing and inventing naked characters.
