If you are organizing a carto team for Quarry, please use the International district. This way, you don't disrupt players that are trying to actually *play* the mission.

First off if these guys could find others trying to *play* the mission, then I wouldn't need to be here taking their names so they could actually get in.

Second, that is why I am gathering 16 people. So we can all go in together and not have to worry about these elusive players.

Third, of course we will be using the international districts anyway as the people on this thread will be from both the European and American servers, thus the international servers would be the logical step to get us all together.

Fourth, the cartographer title is a well defined goal in the game and you must uncover these areas to get the title if you do not have the monastery overlook and the arena (aka most Tyrians). The only technical purpose of the Jade and Aspen missions is to collect faction. You can either cash in faction for items (jade/amber) or you can use them to acquire a title (friend of Kurzicks/Luxons). You do not need to play these missions to do anything else in the game. They are not mission quests that you have to complete in order to follow the story, nor does winning have any affect on the politics or landscape of the game. Thus cartographers have just as much right to be there and to play the mission in a way that suits their goals as anyone else does. If this was not to be the case, then the area inside of these missions would not count toward the cartographer title.

Does it suck to be trying to win the mission and 1/3 of your team is off hugging the walls? Of course. But not any more than it sucks to be the one having to hug the walls and constantly being killed by the other side. You should have seen that what we are doing here is actually good for those trying to play the mission as we are all trying to go in as a large group, rather than 2-3 at a time, which would be just enough to ensure the other team’s win. The worst that is going to happen is that 2-3 people get stuck with us and all they can do is grief the wall huggers until the end of the game. However, once we have one shot on each side (assuming we didn’t get so much grief that we couldn’t fully explore), then we are gone and you have the entire playground to yourself.

So if you are so annoyed by us vicious cartographers messing up your Quarry play time, then I suggest you start a thread in the game's suggestions section and request that those areas not be included in the area that cartographers need to explore, because as long as we need it for the title, you can bet we are going to be there hugging those walls. And we have just as much right to do so as you have the right to storm or protect the gates. It's simply two different aspects of the same game feature.

Unless your friend can log on or sign up for this board and post his details, I will have to put him in reserve. I need at least a little bit of protection from players who may use multiple accounts. I don't have any problems with people who do have multiple accounts, but I need to make sure that everyone gets a fair turn, so I will need to place them in reserve. If your friend can post his details here, I will be happy to add him to the main list, otherwise he will have top priority if someone doesn't show up once a time has been established, which is more than likely to happen.

As for the NPCs, yes you will have to deal with some NPCs. However, most of them are stationary, so if you avoid hitting them with your aggro bubble, they should leave you alone. Yes you will need to get close to many of them in order to hug walls that are near them, but that is another reason why we will be switching sides after the first match. This way the second time you go in they will be your allies and you won't have any problems clearing the space around them.

In the mean time though, just bring as many protection skills as you can and after you have cleared all the friendly areas you can start making suicide runs near enemy NPC areas. You will respawn automatically after a given time and can wash and repeat.

Do you mean between 12pm and 10pm (a ten hour span)? As 12am is midnight (a 22 hour span), which means there would only be two hours of the day that you aren't available...

And I would then guess that you mean between 10am and 12 am on the weekends, which would be a 14 hour period, rather than a two hour period.

i am so glad to have found this thread. I have tried for days to get in jade quarry. My in game name is El Grey. I work from 4pm to 1 am central time. give alittle leeway to the before and after of those. Otherwise i can be on at any time except after 5 am till about... 12pm central. I dont work on saturday or sunday so anytime is good then. I hope my times are somewhere near when you do the exploration expedition. If i didnt leave enough info ill check back soon. An FYI - it looks like the folks on GWonline are invading Jade Quarry this Saturday, around 8PM GMT (though I suspect they mean daylight time) so it may be a good chance to pick it up. If so, it'll be at about 3PM EDT (that's Eastern Daylight time, since EST folks are currently also on summer time).

Anyway, I know I'm going to try to make it, so if there are about a dozen from GWO and some from here we should be able to mill quite a few through.

@Devil Wolf- I know the feeling, I've been trying for about a week solid to get in. I am at 99.3% or so and have none of it uncovered, so this will get me pretty close to the title.

Indeed. Thanks to Livingston for coordinating and thanks to everyone (and their extra accounts, guildies, and husbands that they dragged along when we came up short) that showed up. I'm glad we were at least able to get the Quarry mapped.

I'd be happy to help out if something like this is put together again. I'd definitely like to map these at some point with my Tyrian explorer but I need to get her lazy ass through the Canthan missions to the point that she can access the Quarry/Aspenwood first. :o Even if I haven't made it to Quarry/Aspenwood with her by the time another meet is set up I can help fill out the numbers with Marta (Marta, NOT Martha :p ).

I had never entered the Quarry before and came away with 0.5% from it. At least one person managed 0.6% though so perhaps I didn't jam myself far enough into a corner. :)

my time zone is in my first post in thread (#35) but not on your first post, so to make it official: gmt -08 from 730pm my time aka 0330gmt for 4-5 hours. thanks again for setting this up and pushing to get it through Livingston. I have gotten in on Kurzick side if I remember right, so I still need a spot or 3 in Lux start area, but I'll play through both maps and help anyone else as needed. Perhaps with those new spots you've got in the sticky, my last 0.02% won't hinge any longer on being able to enter Jade quarry but count me in if the schedule fits. Oh, lots more flexibility on weekends also, as long as its actually weekend here, not like monday morning or friday afternoon.

Yes I am. However, the biggest time consumer I have with this is actually going through and sending the time to everyone who needs it in the thread. Otherwise I would have done it sooner.

As such, I am throwing caution to the wind:

We will hold a gathering 30 hours from the time of this post.

I would give more warning, but I wanted to get it in before the weekend is over.

I will be holding another one later in the week for those who can't make it, or who didn't find out about it in time.

Today's meeting was a huge success. We got two groups through Fort Aspenwood, and two groups through both sides of the Jade Quarry. And there was very little fighting that went down in JQ, I'm very impressed.

It was kind of amazing to see blue and red capes simply pass each other by without taking any pot shots. Or standing there on the battlefield just looking at each other. ^_^

So thank you to everyone who showed up and made it a success. If you were unable to make it today, please post and let me know.

Actually we had guys staged in all for outposts at 3am GMT and no one else showed up. We stood around for 15 minutes and then came back at 4am when everyone else showed up.

I did manage to get into Aspenwood. Jade Quarry - Yea, fat chance. Most people I ever saw were 3 others. And, yes, I have the 100% Canthan cartographer title. Without Jade Quary, and without using the Eredon Terrace exploit. Now, that said, it would be much easier with these. A helpful hint, besides falling in love with walls, let the mission cinematics play. If you skipped them, go back and let them replay. And, lust after those walls.

*edit* I got into Quarry last night.

I started spamming districts all over Cantha around 4pm about let's go to Jade Quarry and got very little response. Candy Cuddles pm'ed me an hour later saying she could get a few people together several hours later and I came and checked back - she'd organized about 8 people who waited around for awhile and then we eventually dispersed. On a whim I logged back in like 2 hours after that and found that a different group had kept up the effort and now there were 14 people. This was around 11:30 pm. We pm'ed a few people from this discussion and Candy came back and we all went into the Quarry 3 times for exploration. Thx to the effort from all involved and to the OP for helping other people get their title!

The guild is a good idea. If it works let me know and I'll direct people to you. And yes you start another thread for it.

Announcing a time to meet each day is not a good idea, as there simply aren't enough people who need it to show up that frequently. If however, you do the guild thing and it works, and you design the guild to meet at a certain time each night or each other night, that may work.

Let me know how it goes.

As for the guys in this thread, we will be having another gathering the Sunday after this coming one. I will announce the exact time soon.

Well, it's been a few days now and there're only two others who've shown interest - somehow I thought it'd pick up faster, heh. We had a meet the other night, pulling additional explorers together along with a few volunteers from Fort Aspenwood, and at least TEN other players finally gained the ~0.6% available by exploring the Jade Quarry!

All in all, with how many people finally got in there (at least 3 trips in were made), I consider the expedition to have been a success. However, due to a lack of applications to join, it seems like the guild itself is a failed prospect.

Well we had a good turn-out this evening. Several did get their Grandmaster titles I got .5% out of it. Thanks to everyone that didn't need it but came as support and to fill teams. We had just enough for 1 team each side. Unfortunately we couldn't get Fort Aspenwood. But a few of us that still needed it went and joined regular groups in our Home districts and that is where I got my 100%. I will try to keep an eye on this thread (I still have it bookmarked) and try to come and help future groups.

ok, i managed to call a bunch of guildies and ally mates and got some strangers that were around jade quarry and FINALLY made it in! unfortunattely, it only gave me 0.4%, but i managed to find a spot next to leviathan pits that finished 0.5% for me, and one spot in raisu palace for another 0.1%. im grandmaster cartrographer now ^^ (finally XD)

My Tyrian character is currently at 99.5. With the Shing Jea areas covered via the Dragon Festival. I haven't used Livingston's Guide Maps yet as I like to do things on my own. I have been quite meticulous in my exploration of Cantha. From what I gather I have 2-3 more areas to cover before I have completely exhuasted my options other than going into Jade Quarry. I want to see if I can obtain the title with out it especially since it is quite diffcult to get into that area. I should know within the next day or so. I seriously think it is possible without it if you were able to get into the Dragon festival. On a side note I did not do any of the exploits like Eradon Terrace or Raisu Palace.

I will let you know how it goes.

Hells, from what I have read, Jade Quarry will only net you about .4 - .5%. I have completed searching the last spots I needed that I thought would bump me over but I am now only at 99.7% So I will begin trying to gather a group to explore the Jade Quarry. I believe I can pretty much cover the Kurzick side of the group with the help of my Guild. I will begin trolling K Center and Fort Aspenwood trying to get people to join in a Quarry battle tonight around 3am GMT or 9pm CST. For those that want to join please do. My time is northern hemisphere. Based on your forum info you are in Melbourne Australia so if I understand the Australia daylight savings schedule you are currently GMT +11hrs so the meet would be Saturday 12/9 3pm. and yes we are meeting in the international district :cool:

I'd love to go to Jade Quarry too cuz I have 99.5% explored so I think this could finally end my suffering :) The problem is that meeting at 4:00 am GMT is a bit too early for me. If there was anyone feeling the same, maybe we could set another meeting at like 7 pm GMT for those who can't make it at 4:00...I don't know if there would be enough people interested though. btw, my IGN is Longlife The Deadly, so if you wanted to go to Jade and I was online, just PM me and I'll join for sure :P

Well sorry to say but tonights meet was a bust. We had 10 at Aspenwood ready to go and there were 3 or 4 more at Jade Quarry that didnt need Aspenwood. But even if they had come to Aspenwood or if the ones in Aspenwood had gone to Jade quarry we still didnt have enough. Those that are still needing to get Aspenwood and Quarry pls post here again and we will try to set up a new meet time. Pls include in your post the times you are available in GMT, for example my time is Eastern US (EST) which is GMT -5... so I am available approx 6pm-2am EST( 11pm-7am GMT). Hi Guys, having completed GMC Nightfall, I had another go at Factions and I'm around 98.9% now with a couple of little bits left to do (thanks for the tips and techniques in Livingston's thread). I've had a few frustrating hours of trying to get into Jade Quarry, so I would be very happy if I could join a group doing this and Fort Aspenwood.
