Buying NEW Mesmer clothes. Opinions, options, please come share! :)

Hey everyone,

Well I have literally gone through about 100 pages of Mesmer armors, different pics, options, etc and Im trying to figure out what I like the best. I know such a hard choice... :evil:

I have a nice bit of cash but really not enough for FoW armor... at least not yet. Currently Im just using 1.5k Shing armor from Kaineng until I decide what 15k to buy but its such a hard choice.

I guess I should mention my char is female :cool:

Here are a few things I really like. Please if anyone has any pics to share about their mesmer feel free to post them. I assume this is the right place for me to post this thread, here's hoping.

What I really like are the 15K Kurzicks boots. Think they look awesome and perhaps the best out of all the boots I've seen

So lets start with that. :)

The gloves are probably the easiest to choose with because I really find that they all look pretty nice really. Shing Jea 1.5k, Luxon 1.5K, Kurzick and enchanters are all appealing. So we can skip this and work on the rest of the outfit.

So the biggest parts that I can't decide on is the top/shirt outfit.

I really like the FoW (Obviously), Kurzick, Luxon, Rogue, Enchanters and 1.5K Kurzicks.


Stats really don't matter at all... if I get Kurzick or FoW Ill just get enchanters (which is my personal favorite) and if not Ill make due. Im more concerned over the looks.

Does anyone have any opinions to share?? I apologize if there is a post for this already.

Personally, I LOVE the 1.5k Kurzick long coat! Really nice! I'd go with that! Mine is all Kurzick, I'll post a picture on here if I remember later on if you want to see it.

You'll get rich eventually, just get all of the chest pieces that you like, and switch around. That way you dont need to spend money on the whle outfit^^.

But on an irrelevant note... Virtuoso, 15k, male, Citadel... ohhh yeah, best armour^^

I don't really care for the fow female armor. It doesn't look bad, just a bit plain. I am working my way through the game to get 15K canthan. It is by far my favorite of the female mes outfits.

I am undecided on the masks however. The 15k canthan is just a bit too 'fat faced' for my liking. I think I am going to go with luxon masks, although I think I like the 1.5k better than 15k. I might just stick with my tyrian masks as those are pretty nice, and have different skins.

I need to see some of the masks up close so I will probably try to head out to some of the outposts and advertise to see the armor in action.

I am also really a big fan of 1.5k Kurzicks so I am thinking thats what I will go with. I should be able to get it by this weekend. Don't have the town yet but got the cash so half way there :p

So anyone have any suggestions for dye? Should I go completely with that, or any good mix and match. I really am a huge fan of FoW but the price is quite high. Im like 70 ectos away, so it would take me a long time to get that.... all the same I can always start saving little by little :D

Indeedy, if you buy 1.5k gloves or hose (thats out if you go with rouges, I suppose..) you might end up with enough to buy another chest peice of the more expensive variety so you can switch around with outfits as you please.

I <3 15k kurz. Its sorta ridiculous as far as armor goes, being able to dress my little death machine up like a barmaiding ballerina doll of doom appeals waaaay too much to me. 1.5k kurz everyone seems to like.. I like it more that Ive seen it more, but honestly, I think id like it *more* if it was less.. whats the word, less fashionable and more gaudy and flamboyant... It already is, sorta, but it almost seems too normal for mesmers IMO. Dont ask me why, please. D:

Luxon outfits for fem mesmers are.. .. lol :P 1.5k top is pretty cute though. Yah, though, fow ftw. Meanwhile, my first mesmer, may she RIP, had like.. three chest peices and I think only one pair of hose... Fem mesmers > all because of their fantastic ability to get a new outfit with one peice of armor...boots are the only thing really noticeable, but Id imagine 15k kurz boots would go fairly nicely with other things. Dunno. Happy clothes shopping.

I honestly don't remember the dye combo.... It might be Red + Silver, or Red + Purple or Yellow + Purple.

That is a very good point, I don't know why I didn't think about that :D

So Ill attach here two pics of my new Mesmer... she's only lvl 6 right now but over the weekend Ill power lvl her through Cantha. So she'll be 20 in no time flat.

I bought the regular Shing Jea 1.5k armor for now because starter armor just simply wont do there. I need to have some AL. LOL! :p So this is what Im working with which I do like but I really want to have an upgrade and make her look REALLY good!

As for cost of items, I have probably enough to buy 2 sets of 15k, or any mix and match sets. The biggest problem is Im not sure what goes with what the best and I've seen SO many pics and they all look so good. Wow I love the attire for this class. Such nice armor's, by far the best IMO.

I REALLY do like the Kurzicks 1.5k. VERY nice with the long coat and the little dress on the inside. That is definitely an option. Im not a huge fan of the 15k Kurzicks/Luxon armors but maybe its because I haven't seen them enough, Im not sure.... FoW of course is awesome but a little out of my price range, at least for now. Maybe eventually Ill get enough of those but it'll require a lot of farming in UW. I started doing that yesterday but sadly just one ecto :(

1.5k Kurzick and 15k Canthan, IMHO, for your mes. With the blonde hair and not so pale skin, I recommend pastel colours or bright, bold colours.

I am actually kind of thinking the same thing! :)

I may just purchase both. Ill have to run through the Cantha side of the game with my Mesmer but that really shouldn't take overally long :D 15k Cantha is pretty nice, you think it would suit my mesmer ok? I must say I REALLY like it dyed black, but I've seen some other nice combinations as well. Aqua blue is very cool, and looks pretty nice Gold as well.

Personally, I want get FoW chest with the rest 15k Kurzick for my mesmer, if I can ever afford that chestpiece. Dyed either black or white.

Im a big fan of nice color schemes that people think up of themselves.

My wife really likes the blue on that armor. Also a nice combination. :)

My PC crashed so Im not really any further ahead unfortunately! This week though I should be able to get a good jump on getting my Kurzicks. I think Ill definitely start there.. love the long coat! :cool: After that I may upgrade to 15K then FoW or some combo. What Effigy said sounded very neat. Ill have to try and put together a picture, maybe a little tough :(

Ok so after much consideration Ive decided to go with Rogues. Im not through the game enough to get Cantha's armor so I wanted to get something that wasn't so widely used. I don't see many Mesmers, let alone ones with 15k. Still most of them have 15k Kurzicks that I see running around so I figured be a little different. Plus I really love the look of it more and more as I see it. Really nice clothes.

I would really love the FoW Hose but right now its definitely out of my price range (stupid Mesmer perfect items costing a fortune) :D

So... my question is
a) Which Hose should I use with the 15k Rogue? The gloves aren't so important and the boots I have a few in mind but the Hose Im totally lost on. Any suggestions?
b) What color combination? I've already spent about 5k on colors and I really cannot find a good combo I like. Im looking for something really bright but whenever I dye it any color its always quiet dark.

Im considering silver+silver+silver+yellow as a whitish color but I don't want it to turn out horrible and have to spend another 3k or so.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've seen it posted by a number of people and Y+S+S+S is a valid combination. Someone can correct me if Im wrong but I know I've seen it on a number of posts.

You can. It's just that you have to use this formula:

{[(Y+S)+S]+S}

I did hear, or have read somewhere that it doesn't turn out well on mesmer armors...

Actually I did try that combination. I can post a picture of it but for sure it didn't come out as I expected.

It is alright but I think Ill be looking for a better color. I've just already spent like 10k on Dyes so Ill hold off for the time being :D

Does anyone know how to make actual White?? Since YSSS doesn't work, Im not sure what would look good with the Mesmer (Rogues 15k) armor. I find everything is really dark but Im looking for a bright color.

Heres the PIC... as you can see its more of a light grey color and not white...

I still kinda like it, its one of the better I've seen for this armor but not exactly what I want. I really want a Bright White color... if anyone has one and a screeny I'd really appreciate it. Dye mix would be nice too ofc :D

I don't want to hijack the thread but didn't want to start my own thread that was so closely tied to this one.

But if at all possible I would like some of you wonderful mesmers out there to post some pictures of your 1.5k and 15k male mesmers from Factions. I have tried using the search and have not had a whole lot of luck with pictures, mostly found comments. I'm getting close to being able to get the armor of my choice and I'm not sure which one I want.

aaaahh!! tis a shame!, i was gonna say fow chest and boots with 15k kurzick or luxon pants and gloves if it was male, but i would say 15k luxon since its female, and maybe fow later :p

Damus how did you get that ink colour? I have a male mesmer and tried the silver + red + red on my krytan armour and it came out maroonish. I tried the purple and red combi and it came out brownish. I even got a weird dirty reddish brown colour when I applied just red on my new 15k rogues :(

Can anyone tell me how to get pink because the colours dont seem to come out as it should on a mesmer armour. Is there a formula anywhere?

you have to be careful though, because some of the dye mixes for pink or close to pink turn out a brownish colour for some reason.

But yeah, I'm trying to look for a good "Mesmer-boss colour" scheme that I can throw on my own mesmer, but I dont want to change from black, because that colour is so damn expensive, it would feel like a waste.

Damu's version looks like it has a tint of silver in it... ooo

The Kurzick is good for both, 1.5k or 15k.

An interesting thing is that Red+Blue+Green creates a yellowish vial of dye, with a strong pink color when applied to armor.
