Alright, some genius on our alliance (not on my 4 pary team for sure), decided to set up EoE in our base during the 1:00 startup time before the battle started.

It would have been okay in all considering most of our battles are away from our base had it not been for some REALLY bad bug (at least, I'd hate to see it be a team build because its unstoppable).

Basically our entire 12 party alliance was nuked by EoE bomb, dealt 50 damage for each bomb repeatedly, over and over and over again until we all died - BEFORE the startup time even started.

Here is the worst part - if you die before the startup timer ends, you do not res. Thus, our entire party (save 1 monk, though I don't how he lived...probably bonded himself) died. Luckily, he had res but by the time we came back to a large enough force, the other alliance already had 200 + points.

Anyone have any clue what happened? My only guess is that the genius who set up the EoE decided to bomb his own team but then...why would his team ressurect him? I am more inclined to think that it is a bug in the game than some 4 party team trying to ruin our Alliance Battle game.

BTW some game specs and key points
>> We were Kurzicks
>> Involved Edge of Extinction at 50 damage a bomb.
>> At Grenths Footprint
>> Luxons were unaffected
>> We were not automatically ressurected

I can say I know the people who launched that bomb. Just seeing the alliance chat was hilarious, and I'm certain they got a kick out of it. They weren't saboteurs or anything like that - from what I understand, they were just curious as to whether the team would die or not. Seems like they found an answer.

Correction: At Grenz Frontier

If 12 people die to a 50 damage eoe before the timer starts, chances are it's a bug. Unless they died many times (sac, light of dwayna, sac, light of dwayna, etc...)

When this happened, was it just one huge bomb or did it happen over a period of 10+ seconds?

Well, it happened much quicler than 10 seconds but it wasn't instant. I remember seeing a bunch of -50s over my head with the words Edge of Extinction. I think it was about 150 damage a second - so it lasted about 5 seconds most. It was pretty spazz-tic .

i think that your ment to kill everyone so the timer doesnt start, this causes other side to all quit wondering what happened

when everyone quits on there side, you get free faction

One rezmer + 2 Saccers + 1 Saccer with EoE

This is an oldie. It's a bug that no one rezzes, but I think it's meant to prevent an utter proliferation of MMs that build up an army before battle starts.

Necros can easily kill themselves with sacrifice skills. EoE will cause damage to others when they do so, over and over (as a rezmer keeps raising them from the dead). Eventually this kills just one other person, and then there's a chain reaction and everyone dies.

It's griefing. Report to support.guildwars.com with screenshots of as much as you can (especially the EoE damage or anyone using those skills).
